Was shown in 2013 so a while ago now but I've seen a few people mentioning Pointless on other threads and thought I'd create a thread....AMA!

How much cash did you win and how did you spend it?

Okurrrrrrrr · 15/09/2019 18:40

@toomuch87
'Only' 2k because two shows that was filmed just before ours was the biggest winning they'd had at that point - 67k, so it went back down to 1k and ours was the one after that.
Split it with the friend I was on it with even though I was the only one who answered the questions Bought a 'new' car Smile

Is Alexander Armstrong nice? He always seems very polite and gentlemanly but can be horribly patronising when talking to contestants about themselves. I’m never sure if it is just an unfortunate manner or not!

Nonnymum · 15/09/2019 18:58

What was the category for the final question?
How long did it take to film?
Were all the contestents friendly?
Were Alexander and Richard friendly or were they more aloof in real life?

Okurrrrrrrr · 15/09/2019 19:16

@rainycloudyday
Alexander was lovely, they both walked around the podiums and introduced themselves before the cameras started rolling. He seemed genuinely interested. Richard was definitely more aloof, seemed to just be going through the motions.

@nonnymum
It was Halle Berry films! Went with Flinstones, Bulworth and Gothika. Bulworth was pointless.
Only took one afternoon to film, you get to go back again if you don't get to the final, which we did on the first try. Polishes halo
The other contestants were mostly lovely. There was one couple who were..... interesting. My friend and I applied pissed one night as a joke, put all the answers in the application form as joke answers, and pretty much made twats of ourselves in the audition, so all in all couldn't believe we were there and didn't take it too seriously. But they were...yeah, they took it very seriously Grin

What have you done with the trophy? Is it as crap as it looks?

Okurrrrrrrr · 15/09/2019 19:36

@Frangipane Grin
It's quite nice actually, very substantial.
I had it pride of place for many years but alas finances called and I sold it on eBay for £300!
A man came to collect it and said it was a present for his wife because she loved the show. Confused

Did you shake hands with the losing Head to Headers and if so who instigated it, you or them?

Okurrrrrrrr · 15/09/2019 19:44

@nunnun I gave them both a hug and they told us to win it Smile

Lucky you! I auditioned with dh recently but sadly we haven't been selected.
Do you think that it's harder to get pointless answers now since it's become popular over the years and contestants can now swat up more?

NachoFries · 19/09/2019 06:48

Ooh. I love watching Pointless online. Did the fact that you answered most of the questions but have had to share the prize money impact your friendship with the friend you came on the show with? I’ve always been curious how prize money is shared between non-family members. Did you and your friend get a trophy each? Or do you have to “share” the trophy? If so, who decides to keep the trophy. Sorry, that’s a lot of trophy related questions Blush
