I've been blogging about perfume since 2013. Ask me anything. No snobbery, all budgets and nothing is off the table.

I just came across this thread and thought I might finally have my chance

I loved Armani White for women , any recommendations for something similar? I miss it!!!

MissBattleaxe · 16/09/2019 10:22

@Okurrrrrrrr Looking at what you already like, why not try Emporio Armani In Love With You? It's not too far away from the ones you list and has a lovely wedding-y name! I just tried it this week and although it's sweeter than I'm used to (I like my perfumes green and bitter), I rather liked it. Perfect for a bride. Remember- your husband has to buy you a bottle on every wedding anniversary! ( I decided)

@AndwhenyougetthereFoffsomemore Lucky you living near-ish to Liberty! Also try Fortnum and mason. Their Perfume Hall is amazing. if you ever get as far as Dulwich, Roullier White is a MUST.

@BringTheBounceBack Welcome! Armani White is a tricky one. I've never smelled it but looking at the top notes of musk and wood and the middle and base of greenery- I'm going to take a risk and say try Elizabeth Arden White Tea, or Bvlgari Omnia Cristalline. I may be wrong, but it won't hurt to have a try.

That you MissBattleAxe i’ll Give them a go, I’m intrigued anyway!

BloodiedButUnbowed · 20/09/2019 19:02

Ha! I wasn’t really very interested in perfume but I enjoy an AMA. 5 pages later, I am excitedly considering a discovery box purchase and looking up some of the fragrances you’ve recommended! Love your passion on this thread, have read some of your blog posts and your writing is really enjoyable (you massive enabler :))

Hello, I once had a sample of Kenzo Air and loved it. Any idea where I could get something similar? Thank you.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 21/09/2019 20:50

I love this thread, I'm a huge fan of perfumes. Everytime my car goes to the dealer for a service they say they know when it's in as their workshop smells lovely. Blush

My all time favourite and signature fragrance is Creed Aventus (for men), I wear it all the time. I also love JPG Le Male.

I remember a gorgeous Gucci scent in navy plastic atomiser that's not available anymore.

I wish I could find Avon 'Cote D'Azur' that hasn't 'gone off'. I've only found it twice and been so disappointed.

I also used to love the Limara 'Green Summer' body spray, found the EDT on Ebay after saving the search but it's 'turned' so doesn't smell the same. If anybody else loved the fragrance, Superdrug does a spray called 'green pear' or something like that, it's just a body spray but it's almost reminiscent.

I have a bottle of Gucci Envy somewhere. It's not one of my faves. I did love Tendre Poison though and have some of that in my 'perfume cupboard'.

I wish the original 'Cacherel' and 'Geminesse' were still available.

I wish I'd known then what I know now that it just doesn't keep very well - or it's hit and miss.

MissBattleaxe · 23/09/2019 08:24

@BloodiedButUnbowed that's the kind of thing I love to hear! Imagine me as the devil on your left shoulder whispering "go on, buy it! You deserve more perfume. Us women work really hard. Treat yourself"

@30under I just looked up Kenzo Air and it appears to be a woody aniseed fragrance. Does that sound about right to you? If so, try Zara Scent #2 for men or Lolita Lempicka by Lolita Lempicka which is also a woody aniseedy fragrance ( slightly Gothic- I love it!)

@MissBattleaxe what are the best perfumes for autumn? Can you name a few?

30under · 23/09/2019 10:09

Ooh thanks! All this perfume talk is reminding me to wear some.

MissBattleaxe · 23/09/2019 10:12

@LyingWitchInTheWardrobe I love that you wear men's fragrances. I regard all scents as unisex but marketing still labels them male and female as that's the way people shop. This doesn't happen quite so much in the niche sector.

I used to love Limara- I liked Romantic Fantasy best. I can still remember the rock music advert! "I'm gonna make you remember my name"

As for Gucci- I can't find any in a navy atomiser. Are you sure it was Gucci?

And Avon- I can't find Cote D'Azur but judging it purely by its name you might like this range bit.ly/2kYy7wS

I don't recall the original Cacharel but I think Geminesse came back recently. bit.ly/2ky9y9S It's unlikely to be a perfect match as some old ingredients have had to change for compliance purposes, but worth a try for this price. HTH x

Well there you go though - was rank Grin

Going to try the ones you mentioned higher up the read

MissBattleaxe · 23/09/2019 18:41

I do have a "Gucci Envy" dupe from Eden and I love it, but as a blogger I can't officially endorse copies as brands won't work with me.

By the way, I thought you all might find this link useful about how to get perfume samples : bit.ly/2lQpmEZ
