I've been blogging about perfume since 2013. Ask me anything. No snobbery, all budgets and nothing is off the table.

@Dreamtheimpossibledream Hi, you can ask as many as you want!

You'll be looking for lime or linden blossom and possibly you might like mimosa. So: L'Artisan Parfumeur La Chasse aux Papillons, Floris Limes and a litle niche one I recently fell in love with Kerosene Pretty Machine, you can get a sample from their site. Also- M&S Mimosa and Bergamot

Amazing - thank you! X

@areyoutheredenise I tried perfume parlour's dupe of pomelo and it's lovely. Not sure how similar it is to the real thing but it lasts really well

Hi I like light scents that last- I've got Hermes un jardin sur le toit at the moment but it's nearly out and I really need something a bit more budget friendly. Heavier more floral scents make me feel sick:( is there anything you can recommend please?

daffydowndilys · 07/09/2019 21:26

I adore the smell of peonies, can you suggest at scent for me please?

beanaseireann · 08/09/2019 00:07

PeterRabbit
Annick Goutal's Eau d'Hadrien is very citrussy. It's a beautiful scent.

clucky3 · 08/09/2019 07:12

Do you know anywhere that stocks 4160 Tuesdays perfumes outside of London? I'm intrigued to try but Iive 200 miles from London

Oh yes, I have owned a bottle of J-Lo Glow! It was very gentle. Reminded me of sunkissed SKIN! When you smell your arm after getting a bit of sun.

MissBattleaxe · 08/09/2019 15:15

@PeterRabbitt Check out my post on the best lemon scents here bit.ly/2tHFuJK. If you like other citruses, try Crabtree and Evelyn West Indian Lime, DKNY Woman, which is a fabulous grapefruit, or Chanel Chance Eau Vive or Eau Tendre

@daffydowndilys One of the best I smelled recently is Avon Luminata. the nose behind it is Alberto Morillas, who was also the nose behind Gucci Bloom, CKOne, Estee Lauder Pleasures and more. It costs about £18 and is guaranteed to last 8 hours. You can check out my review here bit.ly/2JnIuls

My mistake, it was made my Mauruice Roucel, who also made Rochas Tocade and Gucci Envy.

@Wassat I love that whole Hermes range, but it is a bit pricey. Try Clarins Eau des Jardins (prices start at £20 for 30ml but you'll need top ups) to the Elizabeth Arden Green tea range, especially Green Tea Nectarine or Green Tea. Also, M&S has a fab perfume section. Try this one

@clucky3 not many outlets outside London, but they do an excellent sample service

I like the "Frocks and Hats" set

@Wassat I meant to add Green Tea Summer or Green Tea Lotus. All under £15

@planestrains Those are both so different! It might be hard for me to suggest a new one to try. Cool water is a classic light marine and Alien is a woody floral. I would recommend a Discovery Box so you can try a few different ones and see what you like. I know I mention these a lot, but The Perfume Society ones are the best and have a good variety.

@HandInGove Yes. Try Byredo La Tulipe, Avon Incandessence or Shay & Blue Black Tulip. Tulip and cyclamen are pretty similar. Personally, I'd go for the Byredo if you can!

Have I missed any out? You can always check out my blog if you like www.iscentyouaday.com. I've just done an Avon fragrance top ten

I used to absolutely love the original D&G with the red velvet box - they stopped making it ages ago and I'm nervous of buying on EBay etc... can you recommend anything similar? I wear Diptyque Vetyverio now in case that helps!

Lucindainthesky · 08/09/2019 17:25

If I give you a list of perfumes I have liked over the years, would you give me one random recommendation of something you think I might like?

CK obsession (old original one)
Jean Paul Gaultier woman
DKNY woman
Flowerbomb
Spicebomb
Kenzo amour
Ghost (original one)
Nina Ricci Nina
Tom Ford tobacco vanille

fedup21 · 08/09/2019 17:29

Can you recommend a perfume that smells like Lilies?

Not Lily of the Valley, but the lovely big ones-I had them in my wedding bouquet and the smell is really evocative of that day Flowers.

Wassat · 08/09/2019 19:00

Oh thank you so much! I live miles from the shops so I've ordered a small green tea- fingers crossed! X

HandInGove · 08/09/2019 19:07

MissBattleaxe thank you so much for the cyclamen pointers. Flowers Your blog is great!

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 08/09/2019 19:08

daffydowndilys · 08/09/2019 19:33

beanaseireann · 08/09/2019 23:17
