Who are you generally more attracted to, men or women?

Bloodycats · 30/07/2019 20:27

When did you realise you were bi, and did you come out to your family?

Ess11 · 30/07/2019 20:35

Who are you generally more attracted to, men or women?
Physically I would say I feel about the same amount of attraction but I tend to feel more emotionally attracted to women IYSWIM. I would be more likely to want to date a woman.
When did you realise you were bi, and did you come out to your family?
I realised when I was 15, before then I thought I was a lesbian and before that I thought I was straight. It was a very confusing time but it made sense once I had my first crush on a boy. I came out to most of my family over the few years after that

I think bisexuals are very misunderstood- many people seem to think you need to be sexually/romantically involved with both sexes at the same time and cannot be monogamous. I know this is nonsense- would you wish to say anything about this issue

Ess11 · 30/07/2019 20:56

I've had people assume this before, I suppose it's because some bisexual people are in relationships with both sexes at once but that's probably quite rare to come across. It's that or they think I must be attracted to everyone I see. Some people just don't seem to understand that I just happen to be attracted to some men and some women, It's silly really

What do you think of the No Deal policy and are you going to prep a bunker?

ShowOfHands · 30/07/2019 21:01

What's your favourite biscuit?

ScreamingValenta · 30/07/2019 21:01

Do you find it easier to have relationships with others who are bi, or is it equally easy for you to connect with lesbians and straight men?

ZeroFuchsGiven · 30/07/2019 21:03

Are you vegan?

LittleKitty1985 · 30/07/2019 21:05

Do you believe gender is a binary concept or a spectrum? & if it's the latter then why don't you identify as pansexual?

CurvyK08 · 30/07/2019 21:07

I am currently exploring my bi side, but I'm in a long term relationship with a man. He has full knowledge of this, do u think that i am selfish and inconsiderate?

FortyFacedFuckers · 30/07/2019 21:09

Are you in a long term relationship? Do you have children?
I am also bi (I think) but feeling very confused.

FortyFacedFuckers · 30/07/2019 21:12

@CurvyK08 I am also in a LTR with a man and I am feeling very confused, would you be willing to tell me more about your situation?

Feelingwalkedover · 30/07/2019 21:18

Why do you think we care who you have sexual relationships with?
Unless you are the queen of course, and even then ..meh

Ess11 · 30/07/2019 21:38

What do you think of the No Deal policy and are you going to prep a bunker?
It's certainly not what I want, I've been preparing for brexit in general by stocking up a bit on food and supplies
What's your favourite biscuit?
Oreos
Do you find it easier to have relationships with others who are bi, or is it equally easy for you to connect with lesbians and straight men?
I wouldn't say either way is easier but others that are bi do understand better sometimes with certain things
Are you vegan?
No I'm not
Do you believe gender is a binary concept or a spectrum? & if it's the latter then why don't you identify as pansexual?
I believe there's two sexes, female and male which are determined by what genitals you have and then I believe gender has kind of been created by society based around that
I am currently exploring my bi side, but I'm in a long term relationship with a man. He has full knowledge of this, do u think that i am selfish and inconsiderate?
I think if he's completely happy and comfortable with you doing this then it's okay
Are you in a long term relationship? Do you have children?
I have a daughter but I'm not in a relationship at the moment
Why do you think we care who you have sexual relationships with?
Unless you are the queen of course, and even then ..meh

Sorry to disappoint but no I'm not the queen, no one has to care really but those that do can ask questions

Do you know other bi-sexual people or do you feel quite isolated?

CurvyK08 · 30/07/2019 22:40

FortyFacedFuckers shall I send u a pm?

NeverSayFreelance · 30/07/2019 22:45

I'm bi too :) hello friend

humblebumblebees · 30/07/2019 22:54

I'm bi too. I think it's a lot more common than people realise. I'm long term married to a lovely man who I love, but if society had been like it is today I could, probably would, be with a woman.

hadthesnip2 · 30/07/2019 23:02

If you could only ever be with one gender from now on which would it be.....male or female....?

Ess11 · 31/07/2019 08:52

Do you know other bi-sexual people or do you feel quite isolated?
I know a few, not many though, most my closest friends are straight

I'm also bisexual, hello bi pal Smile

BroomstickOfLove · 11/08/2019 14:29

Do you find that Mumsnet tends to have a bit of a downer on bisexuals?

I've noticed that there seem to be a lot of assumptions that bisexual men will cheat, that bisexual women with male partners are straight but attention seeking, and then any sort of bisexual identity is something to be ignored (and responded to with a biscuit). Has that been your experience on here, too?

Like several other posters, I'm also bi, in a long-term relationship with a man I love, but would probably only really be looking for a woman to settle down with if I found myself single.
