depends on lots of factors what fuel, how much already in the tank, how much fuel in, how many miles driven. £4000 is new engine territory though again depends on other factors, cheap if you drive a Ferrari but a 10 year old fiesta just get a new car.

What car is it? As soon as you turn the engine on you basically fuck the whole thing up. You don't need a main dealer, just a garage that uses approved parts so definitely will save money there.

This is as massive job so don't underestimate the cost.
