Do nurses generally view HCA's as being 'lesser' than the nurses? I work as a support worker and some nurses have no qualms about telling support workers they need to be reverential towards them.

Do you get really annoyed with doctors who don’t carry tape?

12pinkchairs · 27/04/2019 20:49

Do you smoke?

AllInTentsAndPorpoises · 27/04/2019 20:52

No questions, but thank you for what you do.

Ratbagratty · 27/04/2019 20:53

What is your favourite part of your job?

cakeandchampagne · 27/04/2019 20:54

Do you wear a Fitbit? If so, approximately how many steps are you getting each work day?

ssd · 27/04/2019 20:55

How do you cope with the 12 hours shifts?

Dd17 wants to be a nurse, a&e if possible. Any advice for getting a place in university?

Prequelle · 27/04/2019 20:58

I'm a nurse too, I want to ask you what your ratios are please!

Thunder I couldn't do my job with the health care assistance. They are my rock. I work in a gp surgery now and I'm currently mentoring them in wound care. They are amazing.

I am a practice nurse now so drs don't really ask me for tape. Instead they 'borrow' the otoascope and it disappears. I love my job but I'm finding nursing to be a real struggle, I get shouted at daily, spoken to like 1900 hand maid. Patients complain if you don't agree with them.
My favourite part is sex health.

I used to smoke but not at work.
I only work 9 hour days.
As for Uni training, you dd needs to really try and do some volunteer work in a care setting. Does she want a job where she misses important family events like xmas day, school plays etc. Attend some university open days.
