Wishful, what do you think of the recent Pinterest IPO news and do you think organic traffic will become less ala Facebook pay to play?

@SlinkyDinkyDoo I am linked to Instagram but it's not a platform I use yet. I will get started with it soon but I blog anonymously so I find myself a bit stumped when it comes to Instagram

I think it took off because of the content, I mainly get traffic from Pinterest :)

@SydnayGreen I earn most of the income from ad revenue and some income from affiliate links :)

Wishful, Instagram can work really well for diy, home decor and crafts. 🙂 Do that before FB!

@TheMostBoringPersonEver I think it's really important to concentrate on SEO. Pinterest is currently great for quick traffic but email list and seo have got to be a priority in my opinion

What would Pinterest be without its content creators? I really hope it doesn't become a pay to play system

@Aardvarkitsabloodyaardvark straight to a paid one as you can't make money from a free one... I started through bluehost and never had any problems and found them helpful... there will always be people arguing over which host is better and you won't know who to believe if they're trying to plug their affiliate links ;)

Of course, SEO is ultra important! That is the best quality traffic too I find, lower bounce rates, higher conversions.

Also, have you taken P.I.M.P? I loved it and it really made sense re the SEO. I wish I had more time to test out 'things' that I notice!

At least Pinterest are communicating or attempting to more with creators at the moment. Do you use Tailwind? I am just split testing a few accounts re the latest 'recommendations' to come out. Have you changed your pinning strategy and what have you seen? I guess it is too early to tell and I am hoping it is dropped like the ridiculous first five that some 'experts' are still spouting (in fact, one had it in an email a couple of months ago re her new course. I replied She wasn't happy!

@Aardvarkitsabloodyaardvark make sure you stay away from Wix. Pinterest nightmare as you cant get rich pins!!

I haven't changed my pinning strategy, I honestly just stick to the basics of pinning catchy pins, good seo etc... I don't think we will ever understand Pinterest 🙄 I don't think Pinterest even understands Pinterest

@Whatsnewpussyhat yes that's why I wanted to be anonymous... I was always starting new things and hoping something stuck so I didn't want another 'fail' notch on my belt... so I went anonymous... now it's doing well I wish it wasn't ;)

Pinterest is a lush!

P.I.M.P basically tells you the backend stuff - the things Pinterest attaches to your pins without you knowing about it. It is a bit nerdy! Have found the SEO stuff most helpful. Actually, I am a bit addicted to JL courses - there is ALWAYS something in there I can use! Some can be quite 'slim' but they are cheap, and like I said there is always a nugget in there!

My current geekery over Pinterest is making video pins and sending them viral

Also, re the anon thing, just change over your profile photos as a starter, update your about page. You can always transition. Plus real photos do better on Pinterest as they look like a proper pinner account rather than a business account.

I found pimp, i like to look at the creators Pinterest and see how they're doing and whether I'm doing better if you see what I mean.

I have been, dabbled, write better when I have had a drink on personal stuff.I have a small business which makes candles, diffusers and soap etc and I dabble in making stuff which helps us live greener
