IVF and late pregnancy loss AMA

So it took me 10 years of trying before I gave in and had IVF. The first round was unsuccessful. The second round I got pg with boy/girl twins, who I lost just 1 week before viability, after my cervix started opening. Devastated and swore I’d never try again but with the support of my lovely obstetrician I did have another go and finally had a baby. Then 9 moths later got naturally pg with my little miracle DC2. DC1 is now 7!

Ask me anything :)

I am so sorry for the loss of your babies. I too am a bereaved parent so I have some insight into how you must have felt.

Do you think IVF should be more available on the NHS?

I do think ivf should be more available on the NHS, although I understand that the NHS has limited resources. I think all areas should apply the same IVF criteria, as you can literally be across the road from someone and fall under a different Trust with completely different requirements.
