@word Nothing makes you a traveller it's in your blood! The best way I can explain it is..like royalty they have a baby and their babies automatically royalty, we don't choose it it's just in are blood

Yes I think it's a woman's place to do that, altho I know a lot of men that do help out aswell, there's no right or wrong way

And yes I do believe girls should keep themselves for marriage

Also how did you feel when your dad assaulted your teacher?

Wordthe · 13/01/2019 12:17

Interesting that you compare yourselves to royalty .....

Frouby · 13/01/2019 12:18

Do all travellers take great care of their appearance at all times? We were on holiday recently and saw a couple of traveller families having lunch. The women were dressed very elaboratly for lunch and so were the children. All big dresses on the girls, intricate plaits and ribbons etc.

I only ever dressed my dd like that for social events and thought how much hard work it would be not to mention expensive.

SirVixofVixHall · 13/01/2019 12:19

Growing up I was told that there is a big cultural difference between the ethnic groups - Romanies and the Irish traveller community, who used to be Tinkers ( mending pots and pans etc) . Do you think that is true ?

Cauliflowersqueeze · 13/01/2019 12:23

There is no sex education for 8 year olds in school though?

uhtredsonofuhtred · 13/01/2019 12:27

@Wordthe he deserved it

OP posts:
uhtredsonofuhtred · 13/01/2019 12:27

@Wordthe and not comparing just trying to make it simply for you to understand

I am also a traveller. It was not a good idea to make this thread, they always end up in a load of closed minded people being racist about travellers and then gets deleted.

Cauliflowersqueeze · 13/01/2019 12:29

How was your school repeatedly teaching you about sex education when you were 8?!

Pinkyyy · 13/01/2019 12:30

There are a few names for the language- 'cant' and 'romanous' are the main ones

uhtredsonofuhtred · 13/01/2019 12:30

@Frouby yes most travellers dress their kids up if their out/on holiday it's just how it is, some dress their kids up everyday like that, but then others don't it just depends on the person

OP posts:
uhtredsonofuhtred · 13/01/2019 12:31

@SirVixofVixHall their is a difference but it's not massive, they do some things differently

OP posts:
uhtredsonofuhtred · 13/01/2019 12:31

@Cauliflowersqueeze there was where I went

OP posts:
bollocksitshappenedagain · 13/01/2019 12:33

@Cauliflowersqueeze

There is some very basic education - names for body parts. Learning about the 'pants' song. My dd was learning that at 6.

Pinkyyy · 13/01/2019 12:34

@SirVixofVixHall I'd say there was a huge difference. Sorry to contradict you, OP

AtrociousCircumstance · 13/01/2019 12:34

The teacher did not ‘deserve’ to be punched.

If the boys are allowed to have sex before marriage, I assume they are having sex with each other?

uhtredsonofuhtred · 13/01/2019 12:35

@pinky I married into Irish I didn't see much difference

OP posts:
uhtredsonofuhtred · 13/01/2019 12:37

@AtrociousCircumstance if a someone's told no and the keep doing it then yes they do deserve it, i was little my parents didn't want me watching it and this teachers kept doing it when told no, if that was sex that would be classed as rape, so yes he did deserve it

OP posts:
uhtredsonofuhtred · 13/01/2019 12:37

@AtrociousCircumstance they sleep with the non travellers

OP posts:
AtrociousCircumstance · 13/01/2019 12:38

You are comparing education to rape? Wow.

AtrociousCircumstance · 13/01/2019 12:38

Oh, so are non-traveller girls are seen as ‘lesser’?

Bluestitch · 13/01/2019 12:38

Why is it ok for men to have sex before marriage but not women?

Pinkyyy · 13/01/2019 12:39

@uhtredsonofuhtred typically Irish travellers are much more keen to push their daughters into marriage as early as possible, English prefer them to wait slightly longer

uhtredsonofuhtred · 13/01/2019 12:40

shouldn't go against your wish! He knew it was against our beliefs but still continued to take me into the lessons.
