I’m on a Butlins holiday

Hi OP. Hope you're having a lovely break! What's your main reason for choosing a Butlins holiday?

Which one are you at op?
We've been many times to Skegness but abroad the last two years so haven't been.

Dc really want to go back!

I’m at Bognor Regis in the hotel (its lovely!) currently sat having a coffee on the balcony whilst everyone else sleeps.

My main reasons for choosing butlins is cost, I’ve gone with my friend and our 3 children (5, 5, 2). We looked at renting a caravan or cottage and the cost of that alone was about £700 for something decent, with butlins we’ve paid £1000 which includes food and entertainment for dc so we don’t need to spend or worry about entertaining them ourselves.

@zoflorabore my DD goes to Skegness every year with her nanny and absolutely loves it, she much prefers it to the 5* luxury resort abroad that grandad takes her to!

When I hear Butlins I think of chocolate buttons.

Is Stephen Mulhern there? I love him.

Is there a Pig & Whistle pub?

@loiswilkerson1 he was there on Sunday night so before I arrived!

@craftygin no there isn’t, I have no idea what the pub is called here because I can’t drink (pregnant 😭)

What’s the food like?

Are the other guests really noisy at night? I’ve heard a lot of reports of noise - I quite fancy going but if I don’t sleep I’m an evil bitch.

Still alive @RobinEggs I’ve not been eaten by another parent for asking their precious Chardonnay-Gucci-Adidas to stop mugging my child 😂

The food is really good, we’ve had one meal out at one of the restaurants with vouchers as part of our dining plan. DD loves the Indian night and breakfast buffet, we had a Mexican theme tonight and the chilli con carne was AMAZING! The restaurant staff are absolutely wonderful everything is hot and there’s plenty of it.

@GlitteryFluff my friend took her DD(2) to see one and she really enjoyed it, all of the shows are very interactive and quite short so little minds are kept engaged.

My only question would be WHY? Why would anyone do that to themselves?

And yes, I have been to Butlins.

@RobinEggs it’s fairly quite in the hotel, our kids are quite loud tbh so I’m not sure if the neighbours feel the same, I’ve heard about one toddler tantrum from the people below us since we’ve been here. No one comes back pissed up in the night either.
