Have you seen any long term effects? Did you have any more children after DC9? My DD was premature and I’m really worried about the idea of another premature birth.

Hi user.

No concrete long term effects e.g disabilities but I find dd is very susceptible to bugs and chest infections, and her teeth aren't great, which the dentist says is common for prems.

No I haven't had any more children. Knowing what I know now, I don't think I could do it again.

How did you cope with your child being in SCBU?

Mumofoneprem · 25/07/2018 21:13

It was hard. It was winter too so our first Christmas was spent on scbu. There were no sleeping facilities for parents so we spent each day there then had to leave. It became a surreal routine. The weeks blurred into one.
