I have never had a mum or dad

Never had parents and it's hard .

Well you must have at some point? Are they dead?

I have 2 people who created me but they were never what mum and dads are supposed to be . They never showed us any love and neglected us . They are still alive .

I'm sure that must be tough. Do you know any details about them? Have you ever tried to find them?

Having crap parents is very different to having no parents. Not necessarily better or worse buy definitely different.

My grandparents brought me up more than my parents , they bought my clothes ,gave me books to read , took me on trips etc . Unfortunately , they didn't have a relationship with my siblings . I brought my siblings up for a year from age 7-8 - I took my sister to school with me , dressed her , fed her etc

Half blind bunny - I feel as though I have never had any parents - they have never been involved in my life . My mum was always drunk , my dad was never there . My parents were divorced .

Sock unicorn - I spend Christmas alone with my 3 children - I cook the dinner and clear up ,

Hugs to you OP. How old were you when you first realised things were different at home than other friends at school? How do you feel about your parents now?

Ferntwist -when I was 7 there was a school disco in school hours and everyone came in with party clothes but I hadnt come into school with any and I remember the teacher giving me some clothes to wear and brushing my hair for the disco . I remember feeling loved .

Ferntwist -my dad I don't understand at all it I do understand my mother and I have forgiven my mother but of course my childhood has affected my adult life.
