Do you watch the Scandi dramas?

LavenderHills · 16/07/2018 10:35

Do you just kind of look effortlessly cool with perfect denim and a messy bun?

NotAnotherNoughtiesTune · 16/07/2018 10:36

What's your favourite Danish food? What is the cuisine like there in general?

wizzywig · 16/07/2018 10:37

Please tell me how to pronounce the extra letters in your alphabet.

DeltaG · 16/07/2018 10:38

Ooh tell us about the mysterious 'hygge'...

DeltaG · 16/07/2018 10:39

Also, that salty liquorice you have is absolutely rank. Sorry.

pennycarbonara · 16/07/2018 10:39

Does the UK feel disorganised?
Which policies and aspects of public life seem strangest by comparison?

user1499173618 · 16/07/2018 10:39

Are you tall, slim and blonde with an all year slight tan and look wonderful with no make-up? What do you think of childcare in the U.K. versus Denmark?

wizzywig · 16/07/2018 10:42

Salty liquorice is yum

Mentounasc · 16/07/2018 11:34

How closely bound do Danish people feel to other Scandi countries? Do (geographically challenged) people get Danish confused with Swedish and Norwegian a lot?

Denmark is getting a fair bit of flack for its anti-migrant stance right now. Does that reflect the attitude of most people there?

letmepeeinpeace · 16/07/2018 11:37

If I was visit Denmark where would you advise!? I love anything scandi

TriggeredByHangingBaskets · 16/07/2018 11:40

I've just come back from a week in Denmark (not far from Odense) and have fallen utterly in love with your country. I had my 2 children in a double buggy and we seemed to get lots of attention and stares (in a nice way!) I didn't see any families with 2 children close in age and all their babies were in large coach built style prams, is that the norm?

8FencingWire · 16/07/2018 11:42

You’ll hate this, and I’m sorry. But, in The Bridge, the dialogue is in both danish and swedish. Do you all understand each other or did you have subtitles for the Swedish part? How does it work?

GhostsToMonsoon · 16/07/2018 11:43

Can you understand spoken Swedish? I'm curious because in The Bridge they all seem to understand each other no problem. If you met someone from Sweden or Norway, would you communicate in English or your own languages?

What is your view of the depiction of Denmark in the British press as a utopia of hygge-loving happy people?

TriggeredByHangingBaskets · 16/07/2018 11:46

I'm a 3rd person also wondering about the language in The Bridge!

Bananalanacake · 16/07/2018 11:46

Do you understand Danish kroner

TheDanishGirl · 16/07/2018 12:14

Oh gosh, so many questions. Just gonna put my youngest for a nap, will be back.

I've watched a little of dicte, but that's about it.

Do you just kind of look effortlessly cool with perfect denim and a messy bun?

Oh I wish! Wink

What's your favourite Danish food? What is the cuisine like there in general?

I love the pastries of course, the open sandwiches, the meatballs :), I wish we had big variety of snacks and chocolates like the Brits do here. I could spend ages in Asda's chocolate aisle :)

To be honest the UK did feel disorganised when I first arrived. In Denmark you get a CPR number the moment you're born or the minute you arrive in DK. CPR is the equivalent to the UK national insurance number here.

You need the CPR number everywhere you go, literally from the library to the bank, doctors, phone contract. Everywhere, so you can just turn up and be like "I live at so and so address ".. I feel like here in UK anyone can just turn up tomorrow and be like I live at that address, and get letters sent there. But in Denmark you cant, but you can tell from just typing someone's CPR number in where they live and all their personal details. I like it like that, because If you have to apply for something you don't have to bring 50 letters of "proof of address" like you have to do here which I find annoying.

HollowTalk · 16/07/2018 14:03

Is there a photo with that, though? Otherwise you could give someone else's number, surely?

HopelesslydevotedtoGu · 17/07/2018 10:47

Do you have children growing up in the UK? Denmark is high on measures of child wellbeing and UK usually scores pretty low amongst developed countries. How do you find raising a child in the UK compared to your experience in Denmark? What changes do you think the UK could make to improve family life and child wellbeing?

Do you think cities are nicer places to live in Denmark with the focus on cycling and walking rather than cars?

How does working differ between UK and Denmark, I read that Denmark has a very short working week and is much more employee friendly, is this true?

What do you see as the negatives of living in Denmark?

Scandi is very fashionable in UK now and I think in other countries too- are people in Denmark aware that their lifestyle is now very fashionable globally and what do they think about this?!

What is the general opinion in Denmark on Brexit? (if they have any opinion/ interest in it :) )

unadventuretime · 17/07/2018 11:09

Is the UK much cheaper than Denmark?

Also, we'd like to go to Legoland (and the Lego House) in Denmark but don't want to have to hire a car there as that's so stressful when you need car seats and don't want to lug them on the plane/can't trust the hire company to provide them. Is this doable by public transport after flying from Scotland? Will I faint when I see the price of everything there? If we wanted to stay more than a few days where else in Denmark would be good to go with a 4yo and 7yo?

HoneyMonster12 · 17/07/2018 11:11

Why are you and your people all so cool? Anyone I’ve ever met from Denmark, they all seem to be so smartly and clean dressed, nice haircuts etc! Grin
