I started youtube as a hobby as I don't have many friends so was always bored and looking for something to do, It is not my main career but I do make pretty good money off of it. Hit me with the questions.

Curious as am thinking of going down this route with crafts - suspect won't make as much money as some of the drivel out there sadly. 1k a mth wld do for starters though (ROFL)

Ooh do you know if you can monetise a previously established channel without losing any subs, views etc....asking on behalf of a young relative whos channel is surprisinly popular but they now majorly regret not monetising it!

How do you get people to find and view your videos? I think I could make some great videos but it's getting people to stumble across them amongst the billions of other videos that I think would be the hardest part.

I started making money about 2 years ago, it was slow at first and I didn't get something every month - you have to reach £100 before google will deposit the money into your account. Now days I can earn anything up to £500 a month, obviously it depends on how many videos you post and how may views they get.

I'm a hair dresser so I have a lot of mannequin heads or if the style needs a live model some of my clients are happy for me to film it on them - especially If I give them a discount!

You can monetise an old channel however you will only receive payments for people watching since the channel has been monetised so none of the views that you have already had.

I have 200k subscribers but obviously not all of them watch every video I post so views vary hugely.

Getting your videos noticed is harder now than it used to be as youtube is so popular but if you upload consistently and post good quality videos your channel will gain good reviews which helps a lot. so of my old videos only have 100-200 views but my most popular has over 6 million!
