I'm an epileptic - AMA

I'm a 31 year old epileptic woman. I had my first fit when I was 18 and was diagnosed not long after. I also have two monsters under the age of 3

My son has epilepsy - complex partials. He can talk through the seizures. He is cognitively delayed so can't always express himself so I have some questions

Do you have auras?
What do you remember of your seizures.

What do you think about the whole "I'm epileptic" v. "I have epilepsy" debate?

I wasn't diagnosed until my 30s and am v well controlled so I don't see it as defining me if that makes sense?

What are your seizures like?

How do you deal with epilepsy and parenting small children? How does it affect what you do?

How tired are you after a seizure?

Are you medicated?
When was your last seizure?

DS was diagnosed with epilepsy when he was 18. It's very scary for him and all of us.

Are your seizures Controlled now? I hope so
