I went into care in my early teens and left at 24 - if you're curious what life's like in a children's home/foster care, ask away!

Were you given enough support between 16 to 24 to be able to be independent?

What was it like? Was it typical of the sort of image attributed to it in books / tv?

Did you feel a sense of longing when you saw regular families and how did this affect you psychologically?

Me too but less time than you. Do you keep in touch with anyone from those times?

How were you in care until 24? Doesn’t it end when you are an adult?

I assume SS put you in Care.

How do you feel about your mother/father , as an adult ?

It sounds a silly question, but what were bdays and xmases like? Did you get a gift?
Were your hobbies encouraged e.g swimming, sewing, art etc

You must have had lovely foster parents. Are you still in touch with them now?

I also assumed care "finished" at 16-18.
Do you form relationships with your foster carers, and is there anyone to fill that role in children's homes?
