Yes - what did it feel like?

Lmj25 · 10/07/2018 20:10

What did it feel like?

Sunshiness · 10/07/2018 20:10

What happened to you? What did it feel like?

PrettyWisdomous · 10/07/2018 20:12

What happened? Why didn't you die?

hudyerwheesht · 10/07/2018 20:12

Did you have any kind of near death experience? Any sense of awareness of what was happening but feeling peaceful, joyful, etc?

TaggieRR · 10/07/2018 20:12

Were you aware? Were you terrified?

Samewitches · 10/07/2018 20:17

Do you mean you technically died and were brought back or nearly did?

twoheaped · 10/07/2018 20:19

What happened to make you nearly die?

stresscave29 · 10/07/2018 20:20

My gallbladder burst I was ill for weeks with gallstones and it became infected and it ruptured sepis flooded my body .... I had emergency surgery to save me but my body was giving up I was put in to intensive care and I remember a lot .... I was terrified before I had surgery but to sick to show it ..... after surgery I knew I was dying it's a very strange feeling ..... there was a constant voice in my head telling me it was ok ..... I felt remarkably calm and chilled not sure if that was the drugs but I felt ready to go

I could hear the doctors , nurses and machines but I felt warm and cozy it's such a strange feeling I remember looking down on myself and it wasn't scary at all .... I could see them fussing over me

This is silly. What it felt like for you may or may not be someone else’s experience. I nearly died also. Of sepsis. I spent 3weeks in ICU and got very very lucky. FWIW I felt nothing. I certainly didn’t feel scared, worried, relieved etc until I was in a normal enough mental state to realise what had happened.
It has however meant that I now feel incredibly lucky to be alive and grateful for all I have.

ggirl · 10/07/2018 20:25

oooh very interesting , has it changed you at all?

Lollipop30 · 10/07/2018 20:25

I definitely think that’s the drugs talking.

stresscave29 · 10/07/2018 20:26

halfwitpicker · 10/07/2018 20:27

So how come you're alive?

AdventuresRUs · 10/07/2018 20:30

I was in icu after my second baby. No wonderful experiences- but post traumatic stress for years.

sparklydust · 10/07/2018 22:54

Did you see/hear/sense anything of a religious nature?

SonggBird · 11/07/2018 18:14

This is silly. What it felt like for you may or may not be someone else’s experience.

As is the case with every single one of these AMA threads! I don't think it's silly OP, I'm sorry you went through that and so glad you recovered :)

Has it made you have a different outlook on life?

Empathy56 · 13/07/2018 00:38

Glad you recovered Op.I too had a near death experience caused by sleep apnea.I was floating above my body and was told it wasn't my time by what I can only describe as a being of light.I was then told what year I would die and what I would die from. This was in 2006.It was a very calming experience.I was above my body also.

Slartybartfast · 13/07/2018 05:44

Yes, I hope death is a calm experience

BrutusMcDogface · 13/07/2018 05:53

Empathy - you believe you know what you're going to die of, and when?! Shock

tell us!

Empathy56 · 13/07/2018 23:17

Brutus,I was told 2029 and heart attack caused by my husband making me jump. This was in 2006,in 2012 I had a stroke and in 2014 I had a heart attack, obviously survived Smile I wasn't aware I had a blocked Carotid artery and Ischemic Heart Disease back in 2006.Have had a triple bypass now.I don't worry about when I go,be it 2029 or before.
