Isn't it quite hard to diagnose? I read that sometimes it's difficult to distinguish BPD from AS, but also from the after-work TS of an abusive childhood.

How did you know that you had it? what were the signs?
I struggled with depression and bad mental health for years. I saw a poster about signs of BPD and I ticked every single box even ones I didn’t think were ‘symptoms’ of anything. I brought it up to my doctor and that’s how I was put on the pathway for assessment and diagnosis.

Signs included an unrealistic fear of abandonment, impulsive self destructive behaviours

My GP told me I have BPD. Psychiatrist refuses to commit to diagnosis. I see my GP every three weeks on a routine appointment.

How did you get onto the pathway for diagnosis?

(Waves) fellow borderline here. Although I'm on bpd forum I've only ever met 1 bpd in rl. Was an older gentleman at the park. Have you met many?
