Was this in the UK? Which programme? And why?

Danceintherain2018 · 08/07/2018 20:19

I was going to ask the same!

LexieLulu · 08/07/2018 20:22

Did you book in for a doorstairs grooming before birth, to be ready for your close ups 😂

Kraggle · 08/07/2018 20:23

Fucking hell you had sex pretty much straight after giving birth? Weren’t you still bleeding? I didn’t let DH touch me for weeks!

OliveOrTwist · 08/07/2018 20:25

Ive always wondered why people give birth on TV? Do you get paid?

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 08/07/2018 20:27

What if you had wanted them to stop filming? Would they or did they "own" the birth? Did you get to veto what went out?

LexieLulu · 08/07/2018 20:28

@Kraggle what? Was that on tv too? Grin

afreshnewname · 08/07/2018 20:40

Was your second prem?

EggysMom · 08/07/2018 21:05

What if you had wanted them to stop filming?

I obviously cannot answer for the OP, but my pregnancy was filmed for a documentary. We received scary news at a late scan, and the film crew understandably stopped filming and left us to contact them again as and when we were happy to continue. I felt no pressure from the crew or production company.

You say youngest 2 so I assume you have more, how many times had you given birth before you thought you could handle it on TV, so how many practice runs did you have?

Rachie1986 · 08/07/2018 21:16

... waiting for responses...

NotLeanButMean · 08/07/2018 21:16

OBEM?

I forgot I'd posted this!!

It was a series called Birth Day Girls on Living tv, filmed in 2002. Our daughter was born end January 2002, and our youngest son mid November 2002.

Film crew were ace. They filmed the birth from behind my shoulder so they weren't directly on my bits. She was born incredibly fast, second stage was 4 seconds, and the director had nipped out for the loo and then couldn't get back in as the alarms were pulled to get help in fast, so that left the camerawoman on her own!

Youngest (we have 4 kids) was born 3 weeks early as I developed obstetric cholestasis with that pregnancy, hence there only being 9.5 months between them

Turning up for a maternity appointment with a film crew certainly got you seen sooner as well!

So why did you decide to give birth on TV? Confused

Ilove · 10/07/2018 07:50

There were signs up in the maternity department asking for folk with pregnancies that were not run of the mill to take part. I had severe SPD and was also on my 10th pregnancy after a lots of miscarriages and fertility treatment.

I wanted to raise awareness of SPD as little was known about it at the time
