Do you regret it, and how old are you now?

Gingerninj · 08/07/2018 10:27

I couldn't say i regret it, I wouldn't have my DD but if i could have had her when i was a bit older and a bit more prepared then maybe I would have. I'm 30 now

If your DD want a baby at 16 how would you react?

MarklahMarklah · 08/07/2018 10:32

Did you find parenting difficult at such a young age?
Asking as I know of someone who became a mother not long after turning 16. She's 'only ever wanted' to be a parent, but is struggling to reconcile her teenage years with parenting a toddler.

JeezYouLoon · 08/07/2018 10:36

Does your DD have any contact with her father?

Were the reactions to your pregnancy positive or negative?

Gingerninj · 08/07/2018 10:40

@CambridgeAnaglypta I would definitely do everything to persaude her not to but I'd be shocked if she did because I've been completely honest about what it was like for me

Was the pregnancy planned?
If not did you consider the other alternatives?

Gingerninj · 08/07/2018 10:53

@MarklahMarklah I did, even though I had a lot of younger siblings so I wasn't clueless. It was always in the back of my mind that my friends were out having fun whilst I'd suddenly had to grow up and become an adult before i really was one. Being a teenager really i wanted to sleep in, do things on my own terms but now another life was relying on me

@JeezYouLoon He's never really been much of a dad to her, he's sees her once or twice a year, phones her every few weeks.
Pretty much all the reactions were negative, everyone was disapointed in me but some were happy to support me, others weren't

@MattLeBlancVest the pregnancy wasn't planned, I did consider adoption but decided against it. I felt it was responsibility to raise her and honestly I simply didn't want to give my child to someone else.

Thanks for the reply.

Pootlebug · 08/07/2018 21:43

Is she your only child? If so would you consider having more in your 30s, or will you be making the most of a child-free lifestyle?

Gingerninj · 09/07/2018 13:26

I have two more. So 2 DD's ages 13 and 22 months and a DS who is 6. So a while yet until i have a child free lifestyle haha
