Why are you called Sue?

Why are you an ex-pat rather than an immigrant?

I have lived at various parts...Kendal, Millom, Barrow in Furness. And I am not called Sue. Do you mean the Sterotypical (sp) Fat Northern Bird?

Because its still in the UK. I am now somewhere in the middle of the country.

There's a roadside cafe near us called Big Baps. When I explained the double entendre to my Canadian relative he nearly peed himself laughing. I'm from a different part of The North and we called them barms - the bread roll, that is.

How long have you lived in your new area and are you considered a local yet?

Have you been to Walney Island and if so, what's it like?

I have lived in my area since 1989 at university. No, I'm a blow-in. I have been to Walney Island, in fact used to live pretty much on the beach! It's fine, but a very British island, so doesn't feel like one, particularly as Barrow is linked by a bridge, so no ferry involved. I smoke 20 woodbines, am fat, but not 20 stone, and have the voice of a trucker

I have never owned a whippet or a pigeon though and have been veggie since 1988
