  • Both arms are flexible for perfect positioning

  • Equally powerful internal and external motors

  • Nine varied pulsation modes

  • Creative control mode to personalise vibrations

My verdict

Smile Makers' The Artist isn't your typical rabbit vibrator — and that's exactly why I think it deserves a spot on your wishlist, and why it’s included in our best rabbit vibrators roundup.

With dual motors of equal strength, bendable arms for a bespoke fit, and intuitive controls, it's a luxury toy that’s designed to put your pleasure first. It's not flawless (hello, learning curve for the creative control mode), but it is the most versatile and genuinely customisable rabbit I've tried yet.

So, if you're serious about tailored pleasure and not fussed about classic bunny aesthetics, The Artist will make you very, very happy.

How I tested Smile Makers’ The Artist

I’ve been busy testing The Artist over the last two months, during solo sessions and with my partner.

Out of the rabbit vibes I’ve tested so far - all in the name of research, of course - I’ve spent the most time enjoying this one, I must admit. Each mode has been tried, I’ve explored the creative control feature, tried the squeeze sensors, and even played around with dual penetration. Suffice to say, it's had a thorough road test.

NB: for the purposes of this review, imagery has been taken of the vibrator before being used.

Packaging and what's in the box

The Artist comes in a discreet, chic box that’s the same colour as the toy itself. Inside you’ll find:

  • the vibrator

  • clear instructions

  • a satin storage pouch

  • a USB charging cable.

Like all Smile Makers products, The Artist is minimalist but still gift-worthy. There’s no unnecessary plastic either, which I appreciate.

How easy is it to set up?

I found it very easy to get going once it had had a full charge — just one click of the big button turns it on.

Cycling through the modes is straightforward, too, I’ve found. Although setting up the creative control mode is less intuitive (you need to press and hold both buttons) and requires some practice at first to set your preferences.

But once you get the hang of it, it becomes second nature and the toy remembers your settings for next time.

The controls are very user friendly, and the squeeze sensors are easy to find during use

How does it look?

The colour is deep and sensual. There’s no childish pinks or gimmicky designs here, which is unsurprising for Smile Makers anyway. It's sophisticated and could easily pass for a high-end body massager IMO.

Is The Artist suitable for sensitive clits?

Yes, but with a caveat. Because the external arm is wide and offers more diffused stimulation rather than pinpoint vibrations, it's great if you like a broader, less "in-your-face" sensation.

If you need precise, targeted vibes (like classic rabbit ears offer), you might find this a little too "spread out."

How noisy is Smile Makers’ The Artist?

Pretty quiet for a dual-motor toy. It's not silent by any means, but it's discreet enough that you wouldn't hear it through a closed door unless you were actively listening for it.

How easy is it to clean?

Very easy. As it's fully waterproof, you can rinse it under warm water with a mild, unscented soap or use a sex toy cleaner like Smile Maker’s own. The silky silicone doesn't have any annoying ridges or grooves where gunk could get trapped, either, making clean up before and after a breeze.

What lube should you use with it?

As it’s a silicone toy, you should always stick with a good quality water-based lube to protect the toy. Avoid silicone-based lubes as they'll degrade the material over time.

Who is The Artist most suited for?

After thoroughly testing Smile Makers’ The Artist, I personally feel this toy is best suited for:

  • Those who need both clitoral and G-spot stimulation to climax

  • People who love customisation and control over their vibrations

  • Those looking for a high-quality, versatile vibrator for solo or couple’s play

  • Fans of deep, rumbles rather than buzzy vibrations

If you're brand-new to sex toys, there is a slight learning curve with the creative settings, but don't let that put you off — the results are worth it.

How The Artist compares to other rabbit vibrators

1. LELO SORAYA 2, RRP £200

Both are luxe, high-end rabbit vibrators, but The Artist wins when it comes to customisation. While the LELO SORAYA 2 offers 12 modes and a flexible clitoral arm, it lacks the separate motor controls and creative settings The Artist delivers.

The SORAYA 2 feels slightly more intense internally due to its extended shaft, but for adjustable fit and versatile external stimulation, The Artist is the better bet — and it’s a touch cheaper, too.

2. Lovehoney Mantric Rabbit, RRP £70

The Mantric is a solid beginner-friendly option with its non-threatening design and colour-coded controls. But in terms of build quality, material, and the type of vibrations offered, The Artist far outshines it.

The Mantric’s patterns are simpler and fewer, and it doesn't allow the same level of anatomical fit customisation. If you're after a high-end experience, The Artist is leagues ahead but if you're dipping your toe into the rabbit world for the first time, The Mantric could be a softer (and cheaper) start.

3. Lovehoney Jessica Rabbit, RRP £40
The Jessica Rabbit is a classic for a reason: it's affordable, fun, and does what it says on the tin. However, it's made from plastic, is battery-powered, and is quite noisy in use… A far cry from the silky, body-safe silicone, rechargeable ease, and quiet power of The Artist.

Plus, while Jessica Rabbit's rotating beads and vibrating ears can be intense, they aren't adjustable to fit your body the way The Artist's bendable arms are. If you want a basic blended orgasm at a bargain price, Jessica is great. If you want a luxury, tailored experience, The Artist is worth the splurge.

My testing criteria

Power and intensity:

Deep, rumbly motors but they’re not the strongest I’ve ever used.

Noise level:

Quiet enough for discretion but given there’s two vibrators in one toy, it is a little louder than other rabbit vibrators I’ve found.

Battery and charging performance:

Charges quickly and lasts several sessions without needing to recharge.

Material and safety:

It’s ultra-soft and made from medical-grade silicone.

Ergonomics and ease of use:

It’s a great shape for a rabbit vibrator, but it is slightly fiddly when setting up creative mode.

Versatility and customisation:

The creative modes and personalisation abilities are truly a standout feature for this toy.

Ease of cleaning and maintenance:

Waterproof and smooth for easy cleaning.

Attachments and compatibility:

There’s no extra attachments, but the toy itself is highly adaptable and can be customised to suit each individual’s body and needs.

Price vs performance:

It’s expensive, sure, but IMO it offers value through its features and quality.

Smile Makers’ The Artist is definitely worth buying, IMHO

My final verdict

My final rating:

If you’re tired of rabbits that feel "one-size-fits-all," Smile Makers' The Artist is the breath of fresh air your bedside drawer needs. Yes, it’s an investment, but given how many ways you can use it (and how good those uses are), it's a worthy one. If you want a toy that feels tailored to you, this is it.
