Our verdict

Launched in 2025, the Silver Cross Glide Plus 360 is the brand’s newest 360 spin infant car seat, designed to carry babies safely on car journeys from birth through to around 18 months. After testing it with his newborn son for 12 weeks, father of two Nino felt it’s best suited to parents who want a stylish, premium-feeling seat that works well as part of a travel system and offers reassuring safety features for those all-important early journeys, including the first trip home from hospital.

In everyday use, the Silver Cross Glide Plus 360 impressed with its sleek design and high-quality finish. The padding feels soft yet supportive, giving that much-needed cocooned feel around smaller babies, and Nino noted how comfortable his son looked in the seat. It’s also lighter (4.8kg) than several other infant car seats he and his wife used with their first child, which makes a noticeable difference when lifting it in and out of the car or carrying a sleeping baby between errands. Paired with the Silver Cross Base Plus 360, the rotating function is genuinely helpful too, reducing awkward twisting when loading and unloading.

That said, it’s not entirely fuss-free. Nino found the seat could be a little tricky to click into the base at times, particularly while getting used to it, and attaching it to the Silver Cross Cove stroller using adapters felt slightly fiddly. The lie-flat recline, while a nice idea in principle, is more of a shallow recline than a true lie-flat, which may not meet every parent’s expectations.

Baby in Silver Cross Glide 360 Plus car seat and stroller

The Silver Cross Glide Plus 360 is travel system compatible

How we tested the Silver Cross Glide Plus 360

  • 12 weeks of using the Silver Cross Glide Plus 360 multiple times a week

  • Used on both short trips and longer journeys of up to two hours

  • Tested with a newborn baby

  • Tested in a family car suitable for everyday use

Nino tested the Silver Cross Glide Plus 360 with his newborn son over a 12-week period, using it several times a week as part of everyday family life. The seat was used on a mix of quick local trips and longer journeys of up to two hours to assess comfort, ease of use and how well it performed over time. It was also regularly attached to a compatible pushchair to see how smoothly it worked as part of a travel system.

“We use this every day,” says Nino. “Once it’s out of the car it’s really easy to handle but clicking it onto the base took a bit of getting used to.” He noted that the natural curvature of the base can make it feel like the seat needs to be positioned further back than it actually does, meaning he often had to bend down and check the alignment bar to make sure it was correctly engaged. “It’s super easy to get out, but not always smooth getting it in,” he adds.

After testing was complete, Nino scored the Silver Cross Glide Plus 360 against eight key criteria, including performance, quality and durability, ease of installation, value for money, safety and stability, comfort and adjustability. These scores were combined to give an overall rating of 81 out of 100, which translates to five-stars.

Silver Cross Glide Plus 360: what’s in the box?

  • Silver Cross Glide Plus 360 infant car seat

  • Silver Cross Base Plus 360 (packed in a separate box; sold separately

  • Instruction manual

  • Car seat adapters

It’s worth noting that Silver Cross have a few different types of car seat adapters that are pushchair-specific and compatibility will depend on which Silver Cross pushchair you’re using. Whilst the Silver Cross Glide Plus 360 and the Base Plus 360 are sold separately, you have the option to purchase the bundle – which includes both, for approximately £425.

How easy is the Silver Cross Glide Plus 360 to install?

“Really easy,” says Nino. “I just needed to clip the Silver Cross Glide Plus 360 into the base and we were ready to go.” He found the base itself refreshingly straightforward compared to others he’s used, adding that it didn’t feel bulky or awkward to position. “With some bases you have to fully extend the ISOFIX arms just to stand a chance of lining them up properly, but this one felt much easier from the start.”

To install the Silver Cross Base Plus 360, the ISOFIX arms pull out smoothly and click directly into the vehicle’s ISOFIX anchor points. Clear visual indicators confirm when the base is securely fitted, which is reassuring when you’re doing it for the first time. Once the ISOFIX connectors are locked in, the load leg is lowered down to the car floor and adjusted until it sits firmly, providing extra stability and helping reduce movement in the event of a collision.

With the base installed, fitting the car seat itself is simple. The Silver Cross Glide Plus 360 slots down onto the base and clicks into place, again with indicators to show it’s correctly engaged. The 360-degree rotation makes positioning the seat much easier when lifting children in and out, particularly in tighter parking spaces, and Nino found this especially helpful during everyday use.

While clipping the seat onto the base took a little getting used to at first, once familiar with the alignment it became quick and intuitive.

Silver Cross Glide Plus 360: how does it look?

“Beautiful,” says Nino. “The colour is lovely - although I did wonder whether the cream colour (officially called Natural Taupe) was the best idea if there are inevitable messes.” So far, though, it’s held up well, and after using five different car seats between his two children, Nino’s confident in saying it’s the best-looking car seat they’ve tried, with the nicest materials too.

The Silver Cross Glide Plus 360 is available in Natural Taupe and Classic Black, both neutral options that don’t feel overly ‘babyish’. Its overall look and finish earned it a Red Dot Award for Product Design in 2025, which feels fitting given the attention to detail. The fabrics are soft and comfortable, with naturally breathable bamboo used in the areas closest to baby’s skin, paired with a waffle jersey finish.

This helps with temperature regulation, alongside built-in ventilation in the seat, which allows better airflow on warmer days or longer journeys. The padding is supportive and cushioned without feeling bulky and Nino felt his son was positioned well, particularly around the head and sides.

The EasyFit sprung harness makes it simple to secure your child without wrestling stiff straps, while the five-position headrest and newborn insert stay in place as the seat is adjusted, rather than needing constant fiddling. When installed with the Silver Cross Base Plus 360, the whole setup sits neatly in the car.

How safe is the Silver Cross Glide Plus 360?

“It's super safe and sturdy,” says Nino. “Honestly, it’s the best car seat we’ve had so far and has some great safety features compared to other baby car seats in the same range. The extra padding on the shoulder straps as well as around my son, plus the five-point harness ensure he’s really secure, but still comfortable in the seat.”

The Silver Cross Glide Plus 360 is designed to meet the latest R129 (i-Size) safety standard, which includes more rigorous testing for side-impact protection and ensures the seat is compatible with ISOFIX vehicles. Suitable from 40cm to 87cm (birth to around 18 months), it keeps infants travelling rear-facing throughout its use, which is in line with car seat regulations in the UK.

For added reassurance, the seat features triple-layer side impact protection, helping to absorb and disperse forces away from your baby in the event of a collision. When used with the Silver Cross Base Plus 360, the load leg adds extra stability by reducing rotation and movement during impact, while clear visual indicators help confirm the seat and base are correctly installed.

Baby in Silver Cross Glide 360 Plus

What's the Silver Cross Glide Plus 360 like to use day to day?

This baby car seat well into everyday family life and Nino found it straightforward to use daily. While it is on the wider side, this feels like a sensible trade-off given that the seat is designed to last up to around four years and includes additional safety features.

The 360- degree spin feature makes a big difference in daily use, especially when lifting a baby in and out of the car. Nino described it as “brilliant” and admitted that him and his wife were gutted not to have had something similar with their first child. It takes the strain out of awkward angles and makes buckling up quicker and less stressful, while also helping to shield little ones’ eyes as you manoeuvre them into position.

Once installed, adjusting the recline in the rear-facing position is simple: you just squeeze and pull the seat lining. The extra-padded newborn insert is particularly useful from birth to around three months (or longer, depending on your baby’s size), and can be adapted as your child grows by removing the side padding rather than replacing the whole insert.

The EasyFit five-point harness is straightforward to use, releasing easily with a push, and the headrest offers up to 10 height positions to accommodate growth. Adjustments feel smooth rather than stiff, which helps when you’re making quick changes on the go.

Using the Silver Cross Glide Plus 360 as part of a travel system has been more mixed. Nino explained that while they’re currently using the seat parent-facing on the Silver Cross Cove stroller, which they bought as part of a bundle, attaching it using the adaptors has been a little fiddlier than expected. This is because the width of the seat means lining everything up can take a bit of trial and error, and Nino’s wife needed a little help initially to attach it, but it’s become easier with regular use.

It’s also worth noting that while the seat can technically be laid flat whilst in the car or attached to the stroller, Nino found this tricky to do smoothly and wouldn’t recommend attempting it with a sleeping baby inside.

How comfortable is the Silver Cross Glide Plus 360?

Nino feels that his son is clearly happy in the Silver Cross Glide Plus 360 and settled quickly on both short and longer journeys. The extra-padded newborn insert adds another layer of comfort in the early months and can be adjusted as your baby grows, so it doesn’t feel like something they’ll outgrow immediately. Built-in seat ventilation also helps with airflow, which makes a noticeable difference on warmer days. The seat also comes with an extra-large sun canopy, which Nino says is great for shielding his son from sunlight or wind when out and about.

A comfort bonus for parents is the 360-degree spin feature, which makes lifting and placing your baby in the seat much easier. One small drawback is that adjusting the recline while your child is already in the seat isn’t as straightforward as it looks. While the recline options themselves are useful, Nino found it best to make adjustments before placing his son in the car seat, rather than trying to change the incline mid-journey.

Is the Silver Cross Glide Plus 360 easy to clean?

Yes, Nino found the seat very easy to keep clean, even with the lighter Taupe colour. “A quick wipe with a damp cloth is enough to remove everyday spills and messes,” he says, which is reassuring for parents dealing with milk, dribbles, or snack-time accidents.

The seat’s cover, harness pads, and crotch pad are removable and machine-washable, making deeper cleaning straightforward when needed. The extra-padded newborn insert can also be washed, so you don’t have to worry about mess building up in the early months.

Does the Silver Cross Glide Plus 360 offer good value for money?

Yes. Despite being a little fiddly to attach to the Silver Cross Base Plus 360 or onto the Cove stroller using adapters, Nino feels the Silver Cross Glide Plus 360 offers good value for money. Its safety features are the standout factor, the seat meets the latest R129 i-Size regulations, has triple-layer side impact protection, and keeps babies rear-facing throughout use, which is in line with UK car seat regulations.

The lie-flat recline (even if tricky to adjust with a baby in the seat) is another big selling point, allowing a safer, more comfortable posture for newborns on car or stroller journeys. The adjustable newborn insert and breathable bamboo fabrics as small but meaningful touches that add to overall comfort and usability.

In terms of pricing, the Silver Cross Glide Plus 360 is around £225, with the Silver Cross Base Plus 360 sold separately, bringing the total for a fully functional seat and base to approximately £425.

When compared with a similar 360 spin car seat like the Maxi-Cosi Pebble 360 Pro², the Silver Cross Glide Plus 360 is on par in terms of core features. Both seats offer full rotation for easy loading and unloading, rear-facing travel for infants, and award-winning design. The Silver Cross seat edges ahead with its extra-padded newborn insert, bamboo fabrics for temperature regulation, and triple-layer side impact protection, while the Maxi-Cosi Pebble 360 Pro² is slightly lighter and may feel easier to manoeuvre in tighter cars. Both are considered to be lie-flat car seats as they recline fully, although adjusting the recline in the Silver Cross Glide Plus 360 can be a little trickier with baby inside.
