If you’re after a compact, lightweight stroller that’s ready for both city life and travel, the Silver Cross Clic 2 is a good choice. Our tester Tamsin found it impressively easy to lift and carry, she loved the sleek aesthetic of the Conifer colour, and found the carry-strap fold especially useful on and off public transport.

The full lie-flat seat is another big win. Tamsin told us, “Our son is only five months old, and he likes to lie fully down when he naps, so this feature is great for naps on the go.” It’s a thoughtful addition that makes the Silver Cross Clic 2 genuinely practical from birth.

At just 6.5kg, it’s also impressively lightweight, which makes it ideal for everyday travel and city breaks. However, unlike the Silver Cross Jet 5, the Silver Cross Clic 2 isn’t cabin-approved, meaning that although it folds compactly, its folded dimensions don’t meet the IATA's hand luggage specifications for overhead lockers. You’ll usually need to check it in at the gate rather than carrying it on as hand luggage - something to bear in mind if you’re planning frequent flights.

While the Silver Cross Clic 2 manoeuvres well on pavements and in city settings, Tamsin noted it doesn’t match the ‘all-terrain’ smoothness of a larger all-terrain stroller like the Silver Cross Reef. For urban life and holiday use it’s excellent, but don’t expect performance comparable to a full-sized off-road pram.

Overall, for parents needing a go-anywhere, pack-up-and-go buggy that doesn’t compromise on comfort or style, the Silver Cross Clic 2 is a strong contender. Just bear in mind its compact and urban-focused design makes it less suited to uneven terrain.

Silver Cross Clic 2 versus Silver Cross Pop

The Silver Cross Clic 2 is slightly heavier than the Silver Cross Pop

What is the difference between the Silver Cross Pop and the Silver Cross Clic 2?

The Silver Cross Pop is more of a traditional umbrella stroller designed for basic errands and shorter outings, whereas the Silver Cross Clic 2 is built as a premium compact stroller with more features (lie-flat seat, higher spec fabrics, larger hood etc).

The Silver Cross Clic 2 also comes with travel-friendly extras like a travel bag and has a convenient one-hand self-standing fold, plus a pull-out shoulder strap that the Silver Cross Pop doesn’t have.

While the Silver Cross Pop may be lighter in terms of price and simpler in functionality, the Silver Cross Clic 2 comes with a higher price tag but gives more versatility for transport, commuting, city use and short breaks away.

How we tested the Silver Cross Clic 2

Tamsin tested the stroller for four weeks with her five-month-old son:

  • She used it weekly for journeys into London primarily on pavements and public transport.

  • They took it away for a week to Cornwall, covering cobbled streets and uneven ground at National Trust properties.

  • The focus was on everyday usability: folds/unfolds, carrying up/down steps, boot space, naptime recline.

  • They used the lie-flat feature regularly for naps on the go.

  • Transport versatility was key: seeing how it handles public transport aisles, car boot spaces, and general urban usage.

Once testing was complete, Tamsin scored the Silver Cross Clic 2 on eight key criteria, including: performance, quality and durability, ease of use, value for money, safety and stability, ease of folding and unfolding, comfort and storage.

  • Travel bag (zip-up, water-resistant)

How easy is the Silver Cross Clic 2 to assemble?

Assembly couldn’t be simpler. The Silver Cross Clic 2 arrives almost completely set up, with everything you need in the box, no tools required. “It took me five minutes to put it together by myself,” Tamsin told us.

This fuss-free setup fits perfectly with Silver Cross’s ‘pack-and-go’ ethos, and the stroller’s one-hand, self-standing fold makes it just as quick to use day to day as it is to assemble straight out of the box.

Silver Cross Clic 2: how does it look?

The Silver Cross Clic 2 is a smart-looking stroller, with the classic logo detailing, clean lines and soft-touch jersey fabrics that give it a premium feel without being flashy. The seat and hood use anti-crease eco fabric made from recycled plastic bottles, which makes it feel soft but also easy to wipe down and keep fresh.

It comes in four colourways - Space, Cobble, Conifer, Latte - all muted and easy to match with other baby gear. Tamsin chose the Confit colour and said she was instantly drawn to it. “With the warm weather this summer, the UV protection and lightweight material have been brilliant,” she told us. “Because the stroller is so lightweight, it’s also made it easier to not get so hot and bothered pushing my baby around.”

The handlebar and bumper bar are covered in soft vegan leather, which feels soft to the touch and gives the stroller a slightly more polished look.

How comfortable is the Silver Cross Clic 2?

For such a lightweight stroller, the Silver Cross Clic 2 feels surprisingly comfortable. It has a well-padded seat, adjustable footrest that offers great support for older children, plus a generous UPF50+ sun canopy with a mesh ventilation panel to help keep things cool on warmer days.

Tamsin told us, “The padded seat is great for our son and the recline is extremely smooth. If he wants to go all the way down or halfway, it’s not a problem either way.” The lie-flat recline is easy to use too - you simply squeeze the backrest toggle and lower it smoothly with one hand, which means you can usually do it without waking your baby mid-nap.

There’s also extra padding on the harness straps and a magnetic buckle that clicks together easily but still feels secure. When the leg rest isn’t needed, it can be flipped away to give growing toddlers a bit more room.

Is the Silver Cross Clic 2 safe and sturdy?

Safety feels well considered on the Silver Cross Clic 2. It has a five-point harness with padded straps and a magnetic buckle that clicks securely into place, giving peace of mind without being tricky to use. The lockable front wheels help keep the stroller steady on city streets and pavements, which we think is a must when it comes to smaller wheels.

Tamsin found it reliable in everyday use: it handled London pavements and even cobbled streets in Cornwall without any wobble. However, during testing, she did point out that it doesn’t have the same all-terrain suspension as a larger off-road pram, but that’s a trade-off for a lightweight, compact stroller designed primarily for urban and travel use.

When it comes to the brake, the Silver Cross Clic 2 uses a simple linked rear-wheel brake that stops both wheels at once. It’s easy to press on and off with your foot and feels secure on flat, urban surfaces. Because the stroller is so lightweight, it can take a moment to get used to how lightly the brake engages, but overall it does the job well for city walks, shops and public transport. On steeper hills or rougher ground, though, it may not feel quite as firm as the brakes on a heavier pushchair.

Silver cross clic 2 public transport

What’s the Silver Cross Clic 2 like to use day to day?

In everyday life, the Silver Cross Clic 2 really comes into its own. Its slim profile makes steering and manoeuvring around shops and public transport aisles straightforward, and Tamsin found it particularly easy to handle through busy London streets. The carry-strap fold also makes it simple to lift over your shoulder or carry by hand while juggling other bags.

Tamsin said, The storage basket would hold enough for a day out no problem, but it doesn’t fit our full changing bag, so the items would need to be in another bag. As the stroller is so lightweight, I don’t see any issue with carrying our changing bag on my back as it’s a backpack style.”

When it comes to pushing the stroller, the fixed handlebar sits at a comfortable height for both Tamsin (5′9″) and her husband (6′3″), and folding it into car boots or navigating steps and transport is easy thanks to the lightweight design. There’s also a magnetic peekaboo window, which makes it simple to check on your child without disturbing them.

That said, if you’re regularly pushing over grass, deep stones, or other rough terrain, it’s not quite as effortless as a heavier pushchair or all-terrain pram. But for city streets, pavements, and travel, it performs really well.

How easy is the Silver Cross Clic 2 to fold and unfold?

This is one of the standout features. With a one-hand self-standing fold and built-in pull-out shoulder strap, folding the Silver Cross Clic 2 is quick and effortless - exactly what you’d expect from a compact, lightweight stroller. Tamsin told us, “I love how easy it is to fold up and carry. It makes public transport and getting it in the car boot completely hassle-free.”

Unfolding is just as straightforward: you simply release the latch, lift the handle until the stroller clicks into place, and it’s ready to go. Like many compact strollers, it can take a little practice to get completely smooth, but the light weight makes both folding and unfolding much easier.

Silver cross Clic 2 accessories

Silver Cross accessories include a phone holder, snack tray and footmuff

Does the Silver Cross Clic 2 come with any accessories?

Yes, the Silver Cross Clic 2 comes with a few useful extras straight out of the box. There’s a rain cover, which is handy for sudden showers, and the aforementioned travel bag makes storing and carrying the stroller much easier.

If you want to add a bit more functionality, there are a few accessories you can buy separately, including a footmuff for colder days, a snack tray and a phone holder

Some accessories, like a parasol or buggy board, aren’t compatible with the Silver Cross Clic 2, so if you’re looking for lots of storage or off-road extras, you might need to consider a different model. It’s also not car seat-compatible, so you won’t find car seat adapters for this model.

Is the Silver Cross Clic 2 good value for money?

In the compact, lightweight stroller category, the Silver Cross Clic 2 really feels like a premium option. It comes with thoughtful features such as a lie-flat seat, travel-ready design, one-hand fold, and quality fabrics and finishes that make it feel more expensive than its weight might suggest.

Compared to other popular lightweight strollers like the Stokke YOYO 3 or Bugaboo Butterfly 2, the Silver Cross Clic 2 holds its own. It’s a touch heavier than the YOYO 3, so it’s not cabin-approved, but for day-to-day city life and travel it’s still extremely manageable, especially with the carry strap and one-handed fold. In terms of design and comfort, many parents feel it sits somewhere between the sporty simplicity of the YOYO and the slightly flashier Butterfly 2, with a very practical, sturdy feel.

Tamsin found it a solid choice for urban commuting and trips away: “It’s lightweight enough to manage on public transport and into the car boot, but still feels solid and well made that I wouldn’t worry about using it every day.”

If you’re after a full all-terrain pram for countryside walks or rough paths, you might find better value elsewhere. But if your focus is city streets, commuting, and travel with a baby up to toddler age (22kg), the Silver Cross Clic 2 is a good investment.
