Our verdict

Small and unassuming, I was really impressed by the cooling power of this little fan. Placed on a side table or desk and set to oscillate, it circulates the air in the room effectively, cooling it down nicely.

While it's not as quiet as more expensive brands, it's a compact but powerful fan that's easy to put away for the colder months.

I liked the simple dial operation, although a remote control would be nice for use in my bedroom. At £35, this is definitely a cut above the standard desk fans you can pick up for £20, while not being as much of an investment as a Meaco fan, which retail for £100-£200, or a Dyson, which will set you back £300+.

What's the Pro Breeze 13" Inch Desktop Mini Tower Fan like to use day-to-day?

I tested the Pro Breeze 13" Mini Tower Fan in three locations in my home - the sitting room, bedroom and in the study while I worked from home. Our sitting room has old secondary glazing, which prevents us from opening most of the windows and it gets very stuffy in there during warm weather. The fan was excellent at circulating the air in this room, making it feel cool and fresh.

In my bedroom, the fan provided a nice bit of background white noise for sleeping. While its simple design does not include a remote control or timer, meaning I'd have to get out of bed to turn it off or adjust the fan speed, it's great for having on all night on a low setting. Plus, it costs as little as 1p per hour to run, so I felt very relaxed about leaving it on all night.

At my desk, the fan was great. While it's small, it's pretty powerful, and air flows out of the full length of the fan. On really hot days, I'd turn the oscillation off and have it pointed at me for a refreshing blast of air.

Does the Pro Breeze 13" Inch Desktop Mini Tower Fan offer good value for money?

With some desk fans costing £100+, I'm glad to say this fan gives more expensive ones a run for their money when it comes to performance. What you won't get from the Pro Breeze is extra bells and whistles - like a remote control or timer. However, if you're looking for a powerful fan that's an upgrade from the basic models, it's a great choice.
