Nicola’s verdict

The MYKI Beauty LED Face Mask makes some bold claims, including better results in four to six weeks thanks to 240 medical-grade LED bulbs and a unique combination of four clinically supported light wavelengths. And apparently, it holds up surprisingly well to its claims.

Tester Nicola, 39, who has oily, sensitive skin and has struggled with acne and fine lines (especially since giving birth), used the mask every evening for a month. She had never tried LED skincare before, nor owned any kind of at-home device - and yet found the MYKI mask both approachable and realistic to use.

“I use the mask for a total of 10 minutes every evening,” she said. “It is definitely manageable. However, I find it best not to do other activities while wearing it as I don’t like using the eye protectors.”

How Nicola tested the MYKI LED Face Mask

Nicola followed a consistent routine for four weeks, using the mask daily for 10 minutes.

She alternated between light modes, typically running sessions of four minutes red light, four minutes blue light and two minutes yellow light.

She used the mask on bare skin after cleansing, then followed with serum and moisturiser as part of her evening routine.

Before and after using the mask, Nicola could tell her eye skin was brighter

How does the MYKI LED face mask work and what skin concerns does it target?

The mask uses LED light therapy to address different skin issues:

  • Red (625 nm): for fine lines and boosting collagen

  • Blue (460 nm): for acne and oil production

  • Yellow (590 nm): to brighten skin and even tone

  • Infrared (850 nm): for collagen production, firmness and brightness

“I tend to use the red light more, as I want to target fine lines,” Nicola said. “I think I can start to notice some difference between the lines around my eyes.”

She initially favoured the blue light to address her acne, but experienced a breakout: “I used the blue light more at first, but found my acne has got worse. I have Googled this and I found that it is common with blue light therapy for your skin to have a purge before it gets better, so I will continue using the blue light for several more weeks to see if this eventually helps.”

As for the yellow mode: “I haven’t noticed much difference using the yellow light, but I have not used it for as long as the red and blue light.”

The eye piece and remote for the MYKI Beauty face mask

Nicola found the eye pieces uncomfortable, but the mask itself easy to use

What’s included and how comfortable is it to wear?

Inside the box you get:

  • the LED mask,

  • a USB charging cable

  • and a pair of eye protectors.

While the mask is lightweight and adjustable, the comfort wasn’t perfect for Nicola.

“The first time I used the LED face mask I didn’t take off the plastic cover! I followed the instructions in the booklet and it stated to remove any creams off my face and do a skin sensitivity test. The second time I used the mask I realised why it was so uncomfortable on my nose and removed the plastic coating, as it wasn’t mentioned in the user instructions.”

She also had issues with the goggles: “I found the eye protectors that came with it could become a bit uncomfortable and leave indentations around my eyes. I ended up removing these and just closed my eyes while I used the mask.”

The fit was another mixed point: “I like that it is flexible with an adjustable strap, so it helps sit more comfortably on my face.

“However, I’m not sure if the mask is supposed to be touching all [of] your face at the same time. The mask either sat flat on my forehead or my chin, but never both at the same time.”

Ease of use and time commitment

Nicola found the mask simple to operate: “The mask is easy to set up and there are only a few buttons, so it is pretty straightforward, which is good as the user instructions do not explain what each button does, other than turning the power button on.”

She did note that the lack of information was a drawback: “I do feel like the instructions could include a section on what each light is used for. I had to google what each light does to your skin. MYKI are probably missing a good selling point by not having it included on the box or instructions.”

Sessions were quick and realistic to fit into a routine: “I use the mask for a total of 10 minutes every evening. It is definitely manageable.”

Safety concerns and potential side effects

Nicola has very sensitive skin but didn’t experience any irritation: “I have sensitive skin and I have never felt any heat or irritation from the mask.”

The eye protectors are included, but she found them lacking: “Eye protectors are provided, but as previously mentioned, I found them uncomfortable. I have read online that you can buy alternative third party eye protectors.”

There is a built-in timer and automatic shut-off after each session, which she appreciated.

How does the MYKI LED mask compare to similar masks?

Although Nicola hasn’t used other LED masks before, she felt the device had merit: “I would definitely buy this mask for myself. I would mainly make the purchase based on reducing fine lines.

“After a little research on the mask, I found that this mask offers the minimum recommended infrared light in order to help boost collagen.”

Compared to premium masks like the FOREO or CurrentBody, the MYKI has fewer features but offers decent results — especially for beginners or those on a budget.

Is the MYKI Beauty LED Face Mask worth the price?

Nicola said yes: “I would definitely buy this mask for myself.”

Considering the cordless design, ease of use and targeted light therapy, it offers solid value under £300 — though improved instructions and a better fit would enhance the experience.

Who would benefit most from the MYKI LED face mask?

This mask is best for:

  • First-time LED mask users

  • Anyone looking for gentle light therapy on a budget

  • Users with mild acne, dull skin or early signs of ageing

  • People with sensitive skin

It’s less suitable for those who want app connectivity, advanced customisation, or a snug fit for all face shapes.

Best for: Beginners, budget shoppers and skincare minimalists who want to see if LED therapy works for them.

Durability and maintenance

Nicola found the mask simple to clean and durable: “The material and even surface of the mask makes it easy to wipe over with a damp cloth or wipe.”

“It definitely feels durable, I can’t imagine anything degrading too quickly with the mask. The velcro strap is pretty strong, so that will also last a while.”

Battery life was also decent: “I use the mask for 10 minutes every evening and I found I can get around 4 or 5 nights wear from one full charge. I think this is perfectly acceptable.”

Nicola’s testing criteria

1) Performance: 12/15

  • Noticeable softening of fine lines and brighter tone in a few weeks

  • Blue light linked to an initial acne flare for Nicola, so benefits may be slower

  • Consistent 10-minute sessions were easy to maintain

2) Quality and durability:13/15

  • Mask feels sturdy and well finished; strap is strong

  • Wipes clean without fuss; surfaces hold up to daily use

  • Battery gave around four to five nights per charge

3) Ease of use: 12/15

  • Quick to set up, simple buttons, no app faff

  • Timer and auto shut-off work as expected

  • Weak user guide meant Nicola had to search what each light does

4) Value for money:13/15

  • Solid results and four wavelengths at under £300

  • Good step-up from entry-level without paying luxury prices

  • Fit and documentation hold it back from a higher score

5) Light therapy technology: 8/10

  • Red 633 nm, Blue 460 nm, Yellow 590 nm, Infrared 830 nm cover key concerns

  • 240 LEDs provide strong, even illumination in most areas

  • No intensity control or custom programmes

6) Safety features and certifications: 7/10

  • Timer and auto shut-off included; no heat or irritation for sensitive skin

  • Eye protectors supplied but uncomfortable in practice

7) Design and comfort: 6/10

  • Lightweight with adjustable strap; comfortable for short daily sessions

  • Fit can gap at forehead or chin depending on face shape

  • Eye pieces left marks, so Nicola preferred eyes closed without them

8) Treatment programmes: 7/10

  • Manual selection plus simple timed use works for daily routines

  • No presets for goals like acne or anti-ageing

Overall score: 78/100

Final verdict

The MYKI Beauty LED Face Mask is an impressive, low-cost option for beginners. It offers three useful wavelengths, a wireless design and promising early results on fine lines — especially for sensitive skin types.

While the fit and instructions could be better, it’s still one of the best LED masks options out there, earning it a place in our best LED face masks roundup.
