Best for Budget
Britax B-READY review
The B-READY is a solid tandem double at a very affordable price.
The B-READY is an all-in-one single buggy that converts seamlessly to a tandem double by connecting a second seat beneath the first. Converting this single buggy to a double (and back again) couldn't be easier. We timed the transition and found that it took fewer than two minutes to push back the storage basket and connect the bottom seat.
We tested this double buggy on multiple buses, overground trains and the London Underground, and found that it was easy to navigate through even the smallest of aisles and largely unobtrusive on busy trains. It features an easy fold mechanism with no need to remove the seats beforehand – a definite win for a busy lifestyle – and is compact when folded.
With central suspension and puncture-free plastic wheels, it navigated fields and woodland easily. However, we found the wheels jammed repeatedly on muddy terrain, so if you’re into off-roading, this may not be right for you. Another potential downside is that the Britax car-seat adaptors are only compatible with its Romer infant carrier, so if you’ve already bought your car seat this is definitely something to think about.
This buggy is ideal for a growing family on a budget. For £520 at the time of review, the B-READY does what it says on the tin to a perfectly acceptable standard. While it doesn’t quite have the finesse of more expensive brands, we think the B-READY is a good, dependable option to see you through to the toddler years.
