If you're looking for a lightweight, cabin-approved stroller that's as practical as it is stylish, look no further than Cosatto's newly launched Yo! This compact, travel-friendly stroller impressed our parent-tester Rachel with its intuitive one-handed fold feature. "Using the Cosatto Yo! felt incredible—it’s lightweight yet sturdy, allowing for agile steering. The eco-friendly fabric, durable vegan leather handlebar and bumper bar caps which help protect the bumper bar from wear and tear, ensuring it remains safe and comfortable for your child, are all testaments to its thoughtful design," she shares.

After testing the stroller with her toddler for a few months, Rachel noted that the seating position and short sun canopy were its biggest shortcomings. Despite being fully reclinable, she felt it could be more ergonomic by offering more flexible positioning and an inverted seat area to help babies feel more secure.

"I also wish the sun canopy and rain cover provided more coverage, especially since this stroller is designed for travel and frequent outdoor use.

However, this doesn’t detract from its ample storage space, easy-to-use brake, and smooth manoeuvrability, which make the stroller very reliable and enjoyable to use. I'd recommend the Cosatto Yo! to any on-the-go family, as it made traveling with a young child much smoother and more pleasant," she says.

How we tested the Cosatto Yo! stroller

  • Two months of using the Cosatto Yo! multiple times a week

  • Used while on holiday abroad, on walks and shopping strips

  • Taken on public transport

  • Tested with a 14-month-old toddler

During testing, Rachel scored this stroller on a number of different factors including: safety, stability, ease of use, comfort, ease of cleaning and value for money.

Rachel certainly put the Cosatto Yo! through its paces during her holiday in France. “My extended family members all took turns pushing, collapsing, and lifting the stroller throughout our stay. We used it everywhere: airports, transfer buses, a park with woodland trails, a town centre with cobbled streets, and even a zoo. The Yo! made transporting my daughter easy and allowed us to enjoy day trips while carrying her essentials in the changing bag, which fit easily into the storage basket with its 8kg capacity,” she explains.

“The stroller became an invaluable asset at the airport, allowing us to navigate with ease. My daughter napped comfortably using the fully reclining seat, and the one-handed fold made boarding and exiting the plane a lot less stressful. The Yo! stroller is IATA compatible for overhead baggage on airlines, which is fantastic for parents who need instant access to the pram upon disembarking or want to avoid check-in fees. Fortunately, we were able to check it into the hold for free.

At the airport in England we had to navigate three escalators without lift access, along with many other struggling parents. While I carried my daughter, my husband managed to carry the Yo! with both our hand luggage all the way to passport control using the attached strap.”

How easy is the Cosatto Yo! stroller to assemble?

Rachel found this stroller a breeze to assemble since only the wheels needed clipping onto the frame. There was very little packaging, with only a few plastic protective coverings to remove. The assembly didn't require any tools and was straightforward to unfold once she found the lock clasp and buttons.

Cosatto Yo! stroller: how does it look?

The Yo! is not only full of practical features but is also super-stylish. It comes in four different colours - Whisper, Silhouette, Dino Bright & Happy Unicorns. Rachel’s been testing the Whisper, which is a lovely neutral beige colour with a very playful pattern on the underside of the sun canopy which offers an impressive UPF100+ protection when extended. However, she notes that the white and beige pattern on the underside of the hood is a very light colour and failed to block the bright sunlight during naps while the seat was in the reclined position.

“I like that this stroller is made from hard-wearing, eco-friendly fabrics and recycled bottles, with over 34 plastic bottles in every stroller. Plus, the handlebars are made with durable vegan leather to improve grip as you push – another nice touch!” she adds.

“The stroller also includes a bumper bar, which I found fantastic. I was particularly impressed with the caps for the bumper bar slots, which give the stroller a polished and refined look when the bar isn’t attached. This is a very thoughtful design from Cosatto.”

Cosatto Yo! stroller: is it safe and sturdy?

The stroller feels very sturdy and secure despite its compact, lightweight frame. During testing, Rachel attached her heavy changing bag to the handlebars without it toppling over. Even after removing her daughter from the stroller, it remained upright.

The adjustable five-point harness is also particularly reassuring if you have a fidgety child. “The quick-release button on the clasp allows you to remove your child in an instant, but on the downside, it’s not difficult for an older child to clip open themselves. On one occasion my daughter wriggled the straps down her shoulders, but never attempted an escape,” says Rachel.

Sometimes while strapping her daughter in, Rachel says that the shoulder padding often fell over the clasps, making it difficult to pull them back out from under the padding. She found this to be a little fiddly and annoying, especially when in a rush. However, the straps can be adjusted to secure your child in place.

On a positive note, Rachel says that the brake on the stroller feels very secure and is easy to click on and off. So easy in fact, that her husband and mum managed to engage the brake on a few occasions by mistake whilst walking! “I think this is due to the brake being so large and in the middle of the back wheel bar. However, it works well and is very reliable.”

How comfortable is the Cosatto Yo! stroller?

The Cosatto Yo! stroller offers a comfortable ride for babies and toddlers with its multi-position recline, adjustable leg rest and all-wheel suspension.

The seat can be reclined to various angles using a clip at the back, and it reclines smoothly with one hand. “Although the stroller is advertised as 'fully reclinable,' the seat doesn't lay completely flat. Despite this, my daughter fell asleep easily and napped well in the semi-reclined position. Adjusting the seat to an upright position felt a little clumsy and sometimes required three hands, with an extra one to hold the seat up,” explains Rachel.

She adds that while the sun canopy offers impressive UPF100+ protection, which is very reassuring on hot days, she felt that it didn’t extend far enough, often leaving her daughter with the sun in her face. On the plus side, the canopy has a covered viewing window, which has been invaluable for checking if she’s still shaded.

What is the Cosatto Yo! like to use day-to-day?

“The Cosatto Yo! stroller is a joy to use day-to-day. At an average height of 5’6”, I found the handlebars very comfortable and didn’t have to stoop too low to push, and my 5’11” uncle also enjoyed pushing it around. The handlebars, made from vegan leather, are not extendable but proved comfortable for various heights without adjustment.

The stroller is effortless to manoeuvre over urban roads and paths. While it sometimes struggled on uneven, pebbled ground due to the small wheels, its front wheel-lock feature helps guide it over rough terrain, maintaining its performance as a compact travel buggy for urban areas. The slim yet sturdy frame and easy steering made pushing the Yo! around an airport a breeze. It glided effortlessly through turnstiles and crowds, often allowing for one-handed pushing, which is fantastic when holding shopping or a suitcase.

The storage basket, although a little shallow and prone to items falling out when overloaded, is roomy enough to fit a large backpack-style changing bag, some clothing items, and a few toys, offering enough space for essentials. Additionally, the practical storage pouch on the back of the hood provides easy access to wipes, snacks, and toys.

We had to use the stroller on two buses while traveling around the airport. It was great during busy times, as it’s quite compact and slim for moving around tight spaces. The brake felt very sturdy and reliable while the bus was moving, and it was easy to tilt on and off the bus.”

One thing to note is that the stroller is world-facing only and doesn’t have the option to parent-face, so might be worth investing in a stroller like the Wow Continental Pram with carrycot if you have a newborn.

Cosatto Yo! Stroller: does it come with accessories?

The Yo! doesn’t come with many accessories, apart from a matching rain cover and bumper bar, both of which are very useful. However, Rachel says that fitting the rain cover was unnecessarily difficult, which is not ideal if you're standing in heavy rainfall trying to keep your child dry.

“Once fitted, the cover does its job, but my sister also noted that it didn't sit properly and felt fiddly. The section covering my daughter's face also felt quite small, causing the material to sit uncomfortably close. Instructions on fitting the cover would be helpful, or the design should be more intuitive. A zip in the cover for easy access would be a significant improvement. Although the stroller didn’t come with a footmuff, I didn’t find it necessary during the summer months.”

Cosatto Yo! Stroller folded

Cosatto Yo! stroller: how easy is it to fold?

“Super easy! One standout feature of the Yo! is that its effortless to fold one-handed, with its auto-lock feature to help secure it in place. When folded, the stroller is completely free-standing, making it very useful and great for storing. At 7kg, it is not the lightest on the market but still quite lightweight. We found it convenient to carry around the airport, especially with the invaluable shoulder strap that comes attached.”

Rachel says that unfolding the stroller can be slightly tricky because it's easy to forget about the lock clasp on the side. The main handlebars sit loose away from the lock, giving the illusion that it isn’t completely locked. Once unlocked, the stroller can be unfolded one-handed, though not as effortlessly as folding it down.

One minor issue was with the calf support bar, which doubles as a carry handle when the stroller is folded. “I found it annoying to readjust the calf support position every time the Yo! was unfolded for use,” she explains.

Another bonus is that the stroller is incredibly easy to fit in the boot of a car, including Rachel’s Skoda Karoq, even alongside three suitcases and hand luggage. “It folds up so small that it could even lay on the backseat, with the folded size being barely equivalent to two large shopping bags,” she says.

Is the Cosatto Yo! stroller easy to clean?

“On our outings, the stroller was splashed with mud and rainwater which was very easy to wipe clean. The instructions specify how the seat and canopy material can be removed, but the cleaning label specifies that it’s sponge clean only so the ability to remove the seat feels a bit redundant. It’s quite disappointing that it’s sponge clean only as it is inevitably going to get quite dirty with young children.”

Do you think the Cosatto Yo! stroller is good value for money?

I believe this stroller offers fantastic value for money, especially considering its features are comparable to those of much pricier competitors. The hand luggage compatibility, one-handed fold with auto-lock, and freestanding capabilities make it an invaluable asset for traveling with a small child.

If you're okay with sponge-clean-only material and a slightly more relaxed seating position, the Cosatto Yo! could become your new favourite lightweight stroller. The slim yet sturdy compact frame, coupled with Cosatto’s impressive four-year guarantee, makes this one of the most reliable and indispensable cabin-approved strollers on the market.
