Cosatto travel system?

Hi ladies, it's still early days (baby due in June) but have started to look at prams/travel systems in the sales.
We really liked the look and feel of the Cosatto Giggle Quad, and then found an even cheaper version (Cosatto Mix Hygge Houses): www.cosatto.com/products/giggle-mix/hygge-houses

It doesn't look that different from the Quad (which is more expensive), apart from having three wheels instead of four.
Has anyone else got this, or any experience with Cosatto at all? It's not a brand I've heard of and I've seen mixed reviews but the products are stocked at a local shop and seem decent quality. (this particular system isn't stocked there though so can't try it out, only the Quad).

I feel overwhelmed with all the choice out there, and all the price ranges. Is this price too good to be true? I don't care about having a fancy brand but I don't want something crap that will fall apart either. Any other recommendations welcome.

We have the "Wow" travel system (in hygge houses if it matters). I chose it as the chassis fits in the boot of my citroen c1 and the wheels come off super easy.

Overall I'm pleased with it. We had a push of the giggle 2 before trying the settling on the wow and found the giggle felt cheaper. Still seemed a decent set up for the cost though and there are some good deals online for the full travel system.

We had one of their travel systems when I had my first. I really liked the pram/buggy part but we found the car seat to be awful. Our baby look squashed and hunched (he was an average size newborn). By 4 months old, we bought him a new car seat. This was a few years ago so they might have improved now but I'd definitely try and see one in real if you can.

I love cosatto. We had the Giggle 2 travel system which was amazing, got loads of compliments and didn't get flat tires like friends prams.

We have a Cosatto high chair and a Cosatto buggy at the moment, customer service is excellent and I'd highly recommend them as a company.

We have the giggle 2. It is lightweight and easy to push, and fits nicely in my car. Nice colourful designs too. I found the insert quite thin so I bought a separate fleece lined insert to keep him a bit cosier. I also find the lap bar quite stiff to undo but that's probably just me and is a minor issue. Overall we have been really pleased with it. It has served us well.

I also have the wow travel system. It's seen me through two babies, currently dd 6mo has outgrown the bassinet buggy and almost the car seat. The pushchair part of the buggy still comfortably seats my 2.5yo and always gets compliments on the design in public (it has budgies on).

I don't use it often, maybe about once a week for a long walk and daily for naps but I've had no issues with it. Have also had good customer service when I'd lost a part for the car seat between children.

I went to a huge store to try out different buggies and by far found this the most intuitive to use. I also preferred 4 wheels to 3 as I found the 3 wheelers liked to try and tip over when only on the front wheel. Would recommend trying it out if you can find anywhere that stocks it. Look out for how it comes apart and goes back together and how it feels with a big bag on the handles, little things like that.

How quickly your baby grows out of the car seat depends on your child's growth rate.

My DD couldn't fit into the Cosatto car seat by 6 months. I then brought a Jolie Every Stages one which comes with an infant insert for babies under 9 months old. She simply was too big to use the infant insert.

Should add she was smaller than average as a newborn - for the first month we had to tell people she was full term - but then shot up.

We had the Giggle 2 travel system (three wheeler) and loved it. I was gutted when my son outgrew it and we had to buy a stroller. We had so many compliments about it and I loved that it was easy to manoeuvre and collapsed easily to put in the car.

We replaced it with a Silver Cross stroller bit in hindsight I wish I'd bought a Cosatto stroller.

Dipsydoodle · 29/12/2019 23:56

If you or your partner are tall, I wouldn't. My DH can't use our Giggle Mix because the handles don't come high enough and he has to stoop and it hurts his back. He doesn't have that problem with our BabyJogger (which is a much better pram in general). With Cosatto I think you do pay for the looks a lot v the first functionality.

I'd also rather buy a better rated car seat than the Cosatto ones.

Thanks for all the replies, lots of helpful advice. We're going shopping in the sales again later in the week so will have a look in a few more places for more models.

@Dipsydoodle Yes we're both tall, one of the reasons we liked the Giggle Quad was because it was quite high up compared to other models, the Mix looked almost identical so I assumed it would be the same...I wonder if we can order it online, try it out at home and return it if it's not right....has anyone done that?

@Clevs I thought the travel system converted into a stroller? It says up to 15kg which is around the age of 2-3? I was hoping we could buy the one system and that that would do us rather than having to buy separate strollers later on...but maybe that's unrealistic.

I hate our Giggle 2 due to the low handle and its inability to cope with bumps, it also has terrible resale value.

TartanMarbled · 30/12/2019 18:28

We have the Cosatto Giggle travel system and would highly recommend it - it looks much nicer than most other buggies and steers like a dream. Really excellent system. It has lasted us through two children and is still in great condition.

TartanMarbled · 30/12/2019 18:30

My husband id 6 ft 2 and has no issues with the height. I'm 5 ft 7 and use it on the middle height setting.

Dipsydoodle · 30/12/2019 18:35

Yes, it's not very good at handling bumps and I would never use it off-road. We just use ours for popping to shop and back - our BabyJogger City Mini GT is the pram we use for actually going places as it has much better wheels and suspension. Won't win any prizes for looks but it was cheaper than the Giggle Mix and much, much better IMO. The Cosatto prints are lovely though but I think they sell a lot just on that alone

DH is 6ft 4 and finds the Giggle Mix v uncomfy to use and sore on his back. I also hate where the brake pedal is - if you have the handlebars up it's really easy to step on it while walking and come to a juddering halt.

I wouldn't recommend it, and I doubt we will get much for ours when we come to sell it on, but it was a lesson learned about looks v functionality! Albeit an expensive one.

Overthinker1988 · 30/12/2019 19:39

I've also been looking at this one and the handle seems higher, although it's adjustable so I suppose they could be on a different setting...www.cosatto.com/products/modhero/java

The prams seem pretty similar other than the design and number of wheels...

@Overthinker1988 Yes the pushchair attachment does turn it into a stroller, but I have a tall boy and when the hood was up his head was right at the top and his feet were right at the end so we had to buy something that suited his length better.

Overthinker1988 · 31/12/2019 13:00

@Clevs Ah I see...I suspect that will be an issue for us too as we're both very tall.
