The Beko is very easy to use on a day-to-day basis. There aren’t a huge number of program settings, and while that means it doesn’t offer much flexibility or customisation, it does make running a programme very straightforward.
This isn’t a Wi-Fi-connected dishwasher, so you won’t be able to operate it with an app. There’s a standard on/off button on the front of the unit, buttons for each programme and then a play/pause control. The buttons light up when they’re selected to give added reassurance. An LED display shows how much time is left on the selected programme.

What features does the Beko BDFN26440 Dishwasher have?
There are six wash cycles to choose from. We use the eco setting the most. This is a 3 hour, 40 minute programme that we run overnight. It’s really effective at cleaning almost anything we’ve thrown in.
On a few occasions we’ve discovered some dried food on plates or a particularly dirty casserole dish that hasn’t quite come out fully clean, but overall it cleans everything very, very well.
The auto setting adjusts the time and temperature depending on how dirty the dishes are, which is pretty clever, and the quick and shine cycle runs for 30 minutes for a speedy spruce up.
There’s also a fast+ option which reduces the length of some cycles by increasing the water pressure, and a child lock to keep tiny hands from interfering with the cycle.
A time delay button can delay a cycle for up to 24 hours, but my absolute favourite feature of this Beko is the self-dry function which automatically opens the door when the programme is finished to allow the clean dishes to dry.
I would have liked to see a half-load programme, but apart from that the machine does everything we’d like it to do.

How well does the Beko BDFN26440 Dishwasher clean?
We’re really pleased with how effectively the Beko cleans dishes even on the eco setting. Glasses come out sparkling, cutlery and plates are very well cleaned, and even dirty pans and oven dishes almost always come out very clean.
Almost everything comes out dry too. Plates, pans and cutlery dry very well thanks to the self-dry feature. Tupperware doesn’t dry as well, but that’s because plastic doesn’t hold in heat as much as crockery or metalware.
