Our verdict

The Baby Jogger City Sights stroller is a compact, smartly designed pushchair that aims to offer the versatility of a full travel system without the usual bulk. With compatibility for a baby car seat, a carrycot, and even a glider board, it’s built to adapt as your family grows, all while staying relatively lightweight at 11.3kg. It also earned the 2022 Red Dot Design Award, which speaks to its balance of usability, durability and thoughtful design.

After testing it thoroughly in a variety of settings for six weeks with her 13-month-old, mum Dani found the City Sights particularly strong on safety, stability and ease of folding, scoring it an impressive 88/100.

The one-hand fold makes quick transitions genuinely quick, and the stroller feels sturdy without being difficult to lift into a car boot or navigate onto public transport. The reversible seat, adjustable calf support and large canopy also make it a comfortable option for longer days out, which Dani’s toddler seemed to enjoy.

It’s not the lightest pushchair at 11.3kg, but it offers a well-judged mix of features that make everyday life easier, especially if you’re juggling nursery runs, errands and commuting.

Parent tester, Dani used the Baby Jogger City Sights stroller for six weeks with her 13-month old

How we tested the Baby Jogger City Sights stroller

  • Six weeks of daily use

  • Tested with a 13-month-old

  • Used around town, at the mall, park and garden centre

  • Taken on holiday to Greece

  • Used on a variety of terrain including tarmac, paving and grass

  • Tested on curbs and light uneven ground

Dani tested the City Sights with her 13-month-old over the course of six weeks, using it both at home in the UK and abroad in Greece. She used it almost daily for errands around town, trips to the mall and park, and outings to the garden centre. On holiday, the stroller proved extremely handy for getting around -offering the right mix of comfort and practicality for travel.

Most of the terrain Dani covered was tarmac, paving and grass, all of which the City Sights managed with ease. She also noted how well it handled curbs, a feature that often sets more robust everyday strollers apart from lightweight travel buggies.

Once testing was complete, Dani scored the City Sights on eight key criteria, including performance, quality and durability, ease of use, value for money, safety and stability, ease of folding and unfolding, comfort and storage. After adding all the scores up, the City Sights stroller achieved a total of 88 out of 100, which equates to a five-star rating.

How easy is the Baby Jogger City Sights stroller to assemble?

Assembly for the City Sights doesn’t take long and is simple enough for one person to manage.

Dani says, “It took about 10–15 minutes to put together and was mostly intuitive, but we did need to research how to fully extend it the first time,” Dani told us. “It’s only a one-person job.” She added that the instruction manual was clear and well laid out, with everything required included in the box, making the process straightforward from start to finish.

Baby Jogger City Sights stroller: how does it look?

The City Sights has a modern, minimalist design that feels sleek without being flashy. We tested the black colour, which Dani loved, and the subtle chrome accents on the logo add a classy touch.

Despite its sturdy build, the stroller is surprisingly narrow, making it easy to navigate on trains, buses, and through tight restaurant spaces. The larger wheels add to the robust, premium feel and give the stroller a slightly more commanding presence, without making it bulky.

The seat fabric feels durable and easy to wipe, while the soft vegan leather handlebar is comfortable to grip, though Dani noted that the fabric itself is quite thin and she wonders how it will hold up over time. Overall, the City Sights gives a sense of premium quality without looking bulky.

Is the Baby Jogger City Sights Stroller safe and sturdy?

Yes, Dani was very impressed with the sturdiness and stability of the City Sights and had no problem with it both locally and abroad. “The frame feels solid, and the stroller didn’t wobble or feel unstable at any point. It did not move or tip during the topple test, which made us feel confident that our baby was safe when seated in the stroller,” she told us.

From a parent perspective, the five-point harness is easy to use and adjust. Dani particularly liked the clever clip design: “Although this is a five-point harness, there weren’t five loose clips flailing about, which often take ages to assemble and fasten. The design was smartly created to have just three points of contact into the clip, with adjustable straps.”

The foot brake is also straightforward to operate. Dani found it easy to click on and off, and once engaged, it held the stroller firmly in place, even on sloped ground, without any rolling.

The larger all-terrain wheels add to the stroller’s stability, helping it handle bumps, curbs and uneven surfaces with confidence. When used with the carrycot, the City Sights also provides a safe and comfortable space for newborns to nap on the go.

How comfortable is the Baby Jogger City Sights stroller?

Very. Dani says, “The seat is well-padded and my daughter seemed very content in it - unlike our previous stroller which was not as sturdy. It reclines to a lie-flat position in one smooth movement and the calf rest is adjustable so my daughter can't slide anywhere. It offers multiple positions. We especially liked the fully upright position so she could see the world and the flat position for sleeping, however there are a few different degrees of recline.”

Beyond this, the seat itself is slightly narrower than some full-size pushchairs, but still roomy enough for most toddlers, with plenty of support and cushioning. The harness is easy to adjust and feels secure without being fiddly, which is helpful when your child is growing or wearing bulkier clothing.

The City Sights seat is suitable up to 22kg, giving a good amount of room to grow and allowing the stroller to last well into the toddler years. Taller children should also fit comfortably thanks to the generous back height.

The adjustable handlebar is another comfort feature worth noting (Dani found it very comfortable to push whilst out and about in Greece) - it’s great for parents or carers of different heights, and the padded, faux-leather finish makes it feel sturdy and pleasant to grip on longer walks.

What’s the Baby Jogger City Sights stroller like to use day to day?

In everyday use, the City Sights feels light and manageable. It’s easy to lift in and out of the car, and slim enough to fit comfortably down train aisles or on the bus without feeling bulky. The bumper bar clips on and off without any fuss, which makes getting a wriggly baby in and out much easier. Dani told us that her daughter held onto the bar happily, which gave her a sense of security while riding.

Dani adds: "The under-seat basket is adequate for short trips, fitting a changing bag, water bottle, and a few essentials, but it's not the biggest and the carry bar takes up valuable space in the undercarriage. There are no additional pockets but buggy clips and a stroller organiser can be easily attached if you would like to."

The City Sights has a simple, compact fold that fits easily in the boot of a car

Baby Jogger City Sights stroller: how easy is it to fold and unfold?

For a slightly heavier pushchair, Dani was super impressed with how simple it folded down. She says, “Once folded the City Sights has a really great handle that helps you carry it anywhere. It took me a few days to learn how to manoeuvre the folding mechanism but it's quite straightforward thereafter. There were no faults and the mechanism was sound.” As it’s not a cabin approved stroller, the City Sights didn’t fit in the overhead of the airplane, but it was easy enough to check in and travel with.

Is the Baby Jogger City Sights stroller easy to clean?

Yes. “We had some food and spit-up stains on the buggy which were easy to wipe clean and vacuum. We didn't remove the entire seat to wash it in the machine, spot cleaning was effective enough and there was no fading or changes to the fabric as a result of the cleaning," says Dani.

The materials feel durable and practical for everyday use. Crumbs and spills brush off easily, and the footwell and bumper bar wipe down quickly after muddy shoes or sticky hands. Even the canopy cleans easily with just a damp cloth. Overall, it’s a low-maintenance stroller that doesn’t require frequent deep cleaning, making it ideal for busy parents.

Is the Baby Jogger City Sights stroller good value for money?

Yes, it offers excellent value for money. At around £299, the City Sights delivers many of the features you’d expect from a premium pushchair at a much lower price point. Dani loved its versatility, the fact it’s compatible with a range of infant car seats, and how sturdy and smooth it feels when pushing. Although it’s slightly heavier than some compact strollers, the fold is impressively small, making it easy to store, lift into the car and take on public transport.

When compared with premium models like the UPPAbaby Vista V3 - which is much more expensive even for the pushchair alone - the City Sights still holds its own. It doesn’t have the added bulk or sibling-expansion features of the Vista, but for a single-child, city-friendly stroller, it performs extremely well. You get a robust frame, a reversible seat, a good weight limit and a compact, travel-friendly fold at a fraction of the price, making it a smart purchase for families who want quality without the premium price tag.
