Our verdict

Made with eco-friendly fabrics from recycled materials, the upgraded Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco is part of the brand’s Eco Collection, offering a sustainable option for families. This means you're making a choice that’s better for the planet while still getting a stroller that's practical for everyday life. It comes with useful extras like a carry bag, bumper/belly bar and weather shield and just like the original single and double City Tour 2, the Eco model folds up super compact, is lightweight, offers plenty of storage space and has an adjustable calf support – plus it reclines fully for newborns and older children who want to nap on the go.

Our parent tester, Connie who used the stroller daily for four months, loves how lightweight and compact the City Tour 2 Eco is, making it perfect for managing her busy life with three kids of different ages. Its one-step fold with auto-lock feature makes it easy to pick up and store, so it can be kept under the stairs, in the hallway, utility room or in the boot of a car – ready to be used immediately. "The City Tour 2 Eco is small enough to keep in the boot, which means I can take it with me whenever I need to and there’s still space for my older children’s bags or groceries," she says.

How we tested the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco stroller

  • Four months of using the City Tour 2 Eco multiple times a week

  • Used on the nursery run, in town, on public transport, at the park and on gravel, grass and mud

  • Tested with a 22-month-old

Connie tested the City Tour 2 Eco for four months with her 22-month-old son and rarely left the house without it. “Since getting this stroller, I’ve used it constantly. I have two larger all-terrain strollers, one is used as a running pram and the other is for more everyday use, but I haven’t had to use them nearly as much since getting the City Tour 2 Eco- it’s just so convenient!”

Whilst the stroller doesn’t have larger wheels like some of the all-terrain stroller models, the City Tour 2 Eco’s rubber tyres are lightweight, durable and versatile for a variety of terrain. Despite its lighter weight, this stroller performs well over grass, gravel and uneven pavements.

Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco stroller: what’s in the box?

  • Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco stroller

  • Carry bag

  • Weather shield

  • Bumper bar

As a nippy, lightweight stroller, the City Tour 2 Eco is world-facing only. However, for parents who prefer to have their little one facing them, the Baby Jogger carrycot is available to purchase separately, making it a great option for newborns.

How easy is the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco stroller to assemble?

Super easy! “It took me around five minutes to assemble this stroller, from unboxing to being ready to head out the door, as there’s no tools needed and all you have to do is put the wheels on at the bottom,” explains Connie.

To attach the bumper bar to the City Tour 2 Eco, simply align it with the designated connectors on each side of the seat and click it into place.

Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco stroller: how does it look?

The City Tour 2 Eco has a sleek, modern design that’s both practical and stylish. It’s narrow and lightweight, making it super easy to steer, even in tight spaces. One of the standout features is its simple, no-rethread stroller harness that allows you to adjust the height of the straps quickly and easily without having to unthread and rethread them through the back of the seat.

"The overall design is very simple, which I like. The material feels durable but is also breathable, which is a huge bonus. We haven’t used it in warmer weather yet, but I can imagine it’ll be fine as it doesn’t feel like warm material,” says Connie. The only downside is that it’s currently only available in black, which can feel a bit restrictive if you're after a wider range of colour options. Still, it combines style, ease of use, and comfort all in one.

Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco stroller: Is it safe and sturdy?

Yes! Baby Jogger is renowned for creating high-quality, innovative strollers and this lightweight option is no different.  The City Tour Eco 2 has advanced suspension making it safer to navigate bumpy terrain, plus it comes with a secure three-point harness and lockable front swivel wheels for easy manoeuvring.

However, Connie points out that because the City Tour 2 Eco is so lightweight, it’s not as stable as some of the bulkier strollers when carrying heavier items. For instance, hanging a fully packed changing bag on the back of the stroller can cause it to tip over, especially when your child isn’t seated in it. This is something to keep in mind if you rely on your stroller for extra storage during outings.

That said, it’s perfectly fine for lighter bags and feels safe and sturdy while steering and manoeuvring. “When walking around, this stroller feels very safe,” says Connie. “I love how the straps on the harness can be easily detached at the clip points. It stops them from getting twisted or tangled like the harnesses on my other strollers, which is such a frustration,” Connie adds. She also found the brake at the bottom accessible and easy to click on and off no matter what shoes she was wearing.

How comfortable is the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco stroller?

Very! “My son asks to get in the stroller all the time. He really loves it and when I recline it to a full flat position, he’ll say night-night! It’s the only stroller I’ve used that he seems to be able to sleep in,” says Connie. Like its predecessor, the City Tour 2 Eco features an adjustable calf support and a large UV 50+ canopy, providing comfort and protection for children in any weather. “The sun hood is so protective and makes it easy to allow for naps with low visibility.”

When it comes to the padding on the stroller, Connie says it’s great. “The seat is well-cushioned, so it feels quite comfy for little ones, even on longer outings. There’s padding on the leg rest as well, which is a lovely touch for added comfort. It also comes with a bumper bar, which not only makes it feel a bit more secure but also gave my son something to hold onto on walks and I could attach pram toys if I wanted to. Overall, it feels like they’ve really thought about making it cosy for the child, not just convenient for the parents!" adds Connie.

When it comes to steering, this stroller is highly manoeuvrable thanks to its lightweight and nimble design. Despite the handlebar not being adjustable, both Connie and her husband find it easy to steer comfortably. “I’m 5’2” and its very comfortable for me to push. It also works for my husband who is around 5’9”.”

What is the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco stroller like to use day-to-day?

Designed to be a light, nimble everyday stroller, the City Tour 2 Eco certainly lives up to its claims. It’s enhanced suspension, lightweight, yet durable wheels and storage pockets make it a breeze to use on daily outings.

Whilst it’s not as sturdy as some heavier, all-terrain prams – it’s great for city and country walks, nursery runs and general daily activities.  Connie says, “It’s a very smooth ride and very easy to manoeuvre anywhere I go. I was able to get through malls and shops during Christmas without feeling like I had a cumbersome load in front of me.” Connie also mentioned that it’s easy to push one-handed and folds quickly.

Even though the storage basket underneath is on the smaller side when compared to strollers like the Cybex Coya, Connie could still fit a small changing bag, plus snacks and a water bottle in. “The City Tour Eco 2 also has a neoprene pocket along the back which makes it easy to store additional water bottles or my phone for easy access while I’m pushing the stroller,” she says.

Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco stroller: how easy is it to fold?

Connie finds the stroller super easy to fold with a push of a button, which is another bonus feature that made her busy life much easier.

“I can fold the stroller with one hand which takes seconds. It’s a little trickier to unfold as it needs to lock twice before its ready to go, but once you get the hang of it, it’s not difficult,” says Connie.

To unfold the City Tour 2 Eco, release the storage latch, then lift the handlebar while pushing the frame open until it locks securely into place.

Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco stroller: does it come with accessories?

The stroller includes a carry bag, weather shield (or rain cover), and a bumper bar as standard. For added versatility, parents can purchase the Baby Jogger carrycot separately, and the stroller can also be transformed into a convenient travel system for newborns by using car seat adapters (sold separately). It’s compatible with a few car seats including those from Maxi-Cosi, Cybex, Kiddy and BeSafe.

Is the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco stroller easy to clean?

Connie found the stroller super easy to clean and often used a cloth and soapy water to get rid of any mud or stains on the seats.

According to manufacturer guidelines, the seat can be machine washed on a cold, gentle cycle and should be drip-dried. It’s important to remove the metal frame and PE boards from the seat before washing.

Plastic and metal parts can be surface cleaned with warm water and mild soap, followed by towel drying. The wheels can be wiped with a damp cloth and dried completely with a soft towel before use.

Is the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Eco stroller good value for money?

Yes! Connie says, "After having many strollers between my three children, I feel like the City Tour 2 Eco is more user-friendly and it's really good for everyday use, so I'd highly recommend it."

While it comes with a slightly higher price tag (£250) compared to other lightweight strollers like the Cosatto Yo! (£160), its eco-friendly design makes it worth the investment. The fabrics are made from recycled materials, and the recyclable components make it a sustainable choice for environmentally conscious families, giving it an edge over cheaper options.

Beyond sustainability, the City Tour 2 Eco offers practical features that make it a reliable everyday stroller. It’s ultra-lightweight at just 6.5kg and folds quickly with one hand, making it perfect for parents on the go. With a sturdy frame that accommodates children up to 22kg, all-wheel suspension for a smooth ride, and adjustable recline and calf support, it provides both durability and comfort for toddlers. If you’re looking for a compact, user-friendly pushchair that’s kinder to the planet, this one is a solid pick.
