I seem to recall the issue of NHS managers not being regulated, like other NHS professionals. Moving forward…… the answer is to regulate their conduct.

Just adding my vote of thanks to the C+Pers, and to Tribunal Tweets for their sterling work. And to all of you for the humour in what could be the pit of despair at what rubbish has been going on in our institutions.

Crossing everything that the horrors exposed in this tribunal will be reported in the MSM and that this, plus the new green shoots of sanity in NHS and Civil Service guidance mean that we’re making actual, definitive progress.

Oh, and a stiff whisky for Dr Redvers. I don’t know if she ever browses around MN but all the thanks and best wishes I can offer go to you, for doing your actual job in the face of significant idiocy and adversity. You have acted just as I would hope we (doctors) all would with substantial SG concerns but, too often, this has proven to not be the case, and clearly you have suffered hugely for it. Have a very restful weekend.

I trawled back through the posts to find this one -it's only from yesterday, but there's been a lot of posting in between! - because I liked the comments about the woman at the centre of this, Sarah Redvers.
Well said, PrestissimoSmile
I too hope it's getting through to her that she is held in high regard for her courage in 'doing her actual job' when she's surrounded by ideologues and jobsworths making 'doing her actual job' an act of heroic resistance.

We could send a message of support via her legal reps - I wouldn't recommend sending cards as we did for SP, the legal team's admin people might not appreciated their office being inundated with cards. Especially cards that aren't for themGrin

Her team are
Chris Milsom, claimant barrister
Charlotte Elves, Claimant Barrister
Peter Daly, solicitor for the C

I think this is the Peter Daly in question
Peter Daly | Doyle Clayton

What do ye think about emailing him a brief message of support to be passed on to Sarah?

edited to specify one email on behalf of all - see above re inundation!

@MarieDeGournay Great idea, I'm definitely in.

Lovely idea @MarieDeGournay .

Without women like Sarah Redvers, we'd all be truly lost by now.

CriticalCondition · Yesterday 12:43

Great idea @MarieDeGournay. She said in her statement that she deliberately didn't publicise her claim. It must have been a lonely road. Now it is in the public domain I would like her to know how much support she has.

Hedgehogforshort · Yesterday 12:45

Yes good idea @MarieDeGournay

KittyWilkinson · Yesterday 14:21

As always, your good heart shines through @MarieDeGournay. That's a lovely idea.

I think it would be a great idea, Marie, to send a message to Sarah R saying that the wims of Mumsnet are right behind her and cheering her on.

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · Yesterday 15:10

If Marie is willing to take on the task, I suggest anyone who wants to be counted could like her post.

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · Yesterday 15:11

Or if you think it would be better coming from a uK based poster (not that you can really tell with emails) I'd be happy to do it.

Mmmnotsure · Yesterday 15:16

Yes. Great idea @MarieDeGournay
And whoever writes, please point her to these threads so that Sarah can see in real time how we reacted and how much we appreciate her.

And definitely send Tunnocks.

NUFC69 · Yesterday 15:23

I’m in, too, please. I just can’t believe what they were doing.

anyolddinosaur · Yesterday 15:37

It's good to be reminded that the medical profession did not entirely lose it's collective marbles. Whatever Dr Redvers is doing now I hope she is happy and that she realises how much her bravery is admired.

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · Yesterday 15:41

I'd certainly like to show my support to her, show my disgust for all she had to fight against, and show her how much I appreciate her sticking with it despite how long it took.

I'm sure she's in no doubt she's in the right, and I AGREE with her, all of them, especially the 'Doctor'?!!! at the centre of this, is wrong, wrong, wrong. Incredibly, stupidly and should be criminally WRONG.

DontStopMe · Yesterday 16:37

Count me in for any shows of support to Dr Redvers who has been standing up for what's right in the face of so many who are so wrong.

Hedgehogforshort · Yesterday 17:39

I wish we could have a badge to send her shero something like that

MyThreeWords · Yesterday 17:51

Just a word of caution, not everyone would feel pleased about an email of that sort. Perhaps she would like it, but perhaps not. Lots of people would find it a bit awful to be spoken of extensively online, even the positive comments. And an actual email on top of that might seem intrusive. She has already been through the mill so much that it doesn't seem a good idea to risk making things worse.

It's well known that MN has a lot of GC users, and if she wants to read MN and see the support for her here, she can easily do so. It may even be that some of the comments here would be ones that she finds upsetting. Posts poking fun at tribunal witnesses might just intensify the social tension/horror of the whole experience.

GailBlancheViola · Yesterday 17:51

Count me in on support for Dr Redevers too, I am incandescent at how appallingly she has been treated.

BlueLegume · Yesterday 17:58

Maybe all Sarah needs to hear is that many people are just relieved decent people exist and do the job they were hired to do.

Sarah stood up when so many people were against her. She acted so professionally despite the high cost to her in the workplace and socially. We need bravery medals for whistle blowers such as Sarah.

Prestissimo · Yesterday 18:30

Thanks @MarieDeGournay

It’s a tricky balance, isn’t it? I briefly considered looking her up on NHS email because I would love her to know that she’s supported, but that’s clearly an inappropriate use of that (distant) connection and after a moment’s thought I decided that it was too intrusive to contact her directly that way.

I think a brief vote of thanks through her legal reps would be fine, and hopefully appreciated, as they can time passing it across and edit as required, but anything more personal may just feel too much.

lcakethereforeIam · Yesterday 18:42

A tactful thanks and expression of regret that's she's going through this. I don't know what her relationships were like with the people responsible for this shitshow prior to it all kicking off. Many of them may have been strangers. It's likely though that some were people she liked and respected. I imagine it makes their betrayals (for want of a better word) worse. Presumably she expected them, at the very least, to do their jobs. All this must be a real headfuck.

singthing · Yesterday 19:08

Prestissimo · Yesterday 07:24

Word is that she did offer to settle, though, @SqueakyDinosaur - they chose to fight this in court. At all of our financial expense. Hopefully some good will come of it in the end.

It's not their money though, is it? None of them need to look a Board of Directors in the eye to justify it.

In Peggie it was that legal insurance fund, in Redvers it probably something similar, but if not, the taxpayer will ultimately be on the hook.

I am sure someone is already on it, but an FOI to request details of legal costs will be enlightening, especially if they can be approximately dated before and after the £1 settlement offer.
