From TT

CM: p3689, outcome letter. Point 7. You say, you can't comment on legal definition of harassment but you accept the C perceives harassment. So it's not all about procedure? You don't say, "outside scope"?
HH: No
CM: Did you seek legal advice on the definition?
HH: No
CM: Did you use the EDI code as benchmark?
HH: I read a number of definitions of harassment.
CM: Doesn't this put it all on C's shoulders? makes it about her perceptions, not what happened?
HH: I don't think that's what I'm saying.
CM p3544 this is the 'management case'
CM: C does see this until disclosure. Could you read this and the next page
CM: The first appeal point. Do take the time to read.
CM: And now p3685-3687, this is your appeal outcome letter.
CM: At the end of this, there is a copy-and-paste of the management case. Virtually identical. You agree?
HH: Yes v similar
CM: And C would not know that, bcs hadn't seen the doc?
HH: I don't know ...
CM: C wanted an independent officer, and what she got was a transcription service for the managment case.
HH: No, not what happened.
CM: No further Qs.
J: No Qs from me
BW: Or from me

😳

Nick Wallis will give it all due diligence. My fear is the tra repercussions should he turn up stuff they aren't happy with.

Boiledbeetle · 16/10/2026 14:51

Talking about submissions now

It sounds like she actually disliked her.

..and we know from experience that only people who the people in authority like are entitled to fairness, justice, adherence to workplace regs, protection from harassment.
If HR doesn't like you, don't expect anybody to assert your rights as an employee or as a human being, you're on your own and deserve all you get.
HR have a drawer full of firelighters and matches with your name on it..

It's so utterly, utterly disrespectful and contemptuous of employees who are just trying to do their jobs.

This from India W and Freda W on X……they are vile and surely defaming Nick Wallis?

Nick Wallis was a freelancer at ITV News and genuinely a TERRIBLE journalist (I promise you, that's not the trans side of things speaking).
Very weird person. Not good enough for a staff job. Since the Edinburgh Funder retweeted something of his, he's convinced himself he's suddenly John Pilger. Love-bombed by haters. Attention he could never have dreamed of. Now - head gone. Like all gender criticals, an oddbod.

Freda Wallace • @Thetidethatturn • 16h

Did you work with him? I have some information about the original horizon post office scandal and he stole most of his content from a lady who would work quite hard on it already.

Boiledbeetle · 16/10/2026 14:57

On to various legal cases grainger, higgs....

Boiledbeetle · 16/10/2026 15:00

On to diary disclosure

Not to mention unintentionally funny AND libellous- now that whole combination takes some doing - and India calls Nick weird?

Boiledbeetle · 16/10/2026 15:02

redactions redactions unredacted redactions.

And we are done for today.

Back on Wednesday.

BellsoftheCarols · 16/10/2026 15:03

Bold of Fred to talk about men stealing things from women.

KittyWilkinson · 16/10/2026 15:09

Thanks everyone for your input and commentary today 💐

ProfDrLapwing · 16/10/2026 15:19

Thanks to the cut and pasters and the commenters.

Another seemingly slam dunk for the complainant but we’ve been here before.

It is feeling like there is a seismic shift in the landscape going on but, again, I’ve thought this before. What brave women there are out there, who keep raising their heads above the parapet 👏 👏 👏.

The judge seemed to get what was going on, and understood the issues, but as we know that can mean fuck all in the judgement

Justabaker · 16/10/2026 15:32

Judge asked very good questions.

I was astonished by the evidence from the g/x appeal decision maker and I think she (J) was too. Process failures all over the place; time, first i/x was LB, insufficient disclosure, no interviews with THIB members, the rabid TRA external contractor foaming at the mouth to investigate SH again. None of that was 're-investigating'. Her role was to contrast a well run g/x with what actually occurred. That's not what she did.

And the meeting itself.

Wow.

ickky · 16/10/2026 15:32

They never saw a tribunal in their futures at all did they. So righteous were they about the side they'd chosen, that they seem to have actively gone out of their way to shaft SR.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 16/10/2026 15:41

cases like this are a reminder to conduct anything around employment grievances & disciplinaries as if you were going to have to reveal every email, minutes and teams chat to an ET and have to defend it 😳

ProfDrLapwing · 16/10/2026 15:48

Forgot my manners: and thanks to Tribunal Tweets <hangs head in shame>. We’re reading and absorbing even if we’re not commenting often.

NW did freelance work for the BBC, not ITV. Same organisation that employed Jonathan Willoughby.

By the way, John Pilger was a tosser.

Ginasonabendernow · 16/10/2026 16:10

CM finished with the last witness and said, thank you Judge that ended on a whimper rather than a bang, I think if he could have rolled his eyes and shook his head he would have

The judge asked good questions, asking if they can have an agreed interpretation of what Gender Critical means and if they cant, to give the reasons they disagree

That will be interesting on Wednesday

Thank you TT and the copy and pasters, its been quite the week

SqueakyDinosaur · 16/10/2026 16:18

This ET seems to be going far more to schedule than many of them do. Possibly due to a more restricted number of witnesses? Is that something that a judge can influence?
