...nothing looks sadder than a flaccid acrylic monstrosity when it's been rained on and accented with birdshit.

OK, who's going to use FlaccidAcrylicMonstrosity for a name change?

Sounds like a description of a cheap wig. 💡 There's an idea for the non crafty for the next trans visibility day, dragged up letter boxes.

There’s an incredible DD day topper on a post box I’ve just passed.

I saw a good one on my way home from the shops,it was shaped like a plane.

I'm not going to use it as a name change but I can think of a few individuals it could apply to!

Yes. K S. Also R S. Either as PM is worse than a wet acrylic post box topper.

RandySavage · 07/06/2024 10:07

"flaccid acrylic monstrosity" - that describes an awful lot of those we regularly discuss here.
I won't mention any names, but I'm thinking lawyers, football managers, newsreaders, and just about any bloke who uses an anime avatar.

LarkLane · 07/06/2024 09:55

Lol.
Will sit on my hands so I can't type.

SinnerBoy · 07/06/2024 09:52

We probably all do...

It's crochet.

The creator should complain about this egregious mis-crafting.

I'm so pleased to not have been the only person irritated by this! (And doubly pleased not to be the first to mention it!).

Just waving at the Beestonians on here (I'm nearby)

Ey up! Seems like there's a few of us about in the area. Ever since this topper incident I've been walking down the high street thinking "was it you...?" "perhaps it was you...?" We need a secret sign 😉

Just waving at the Beestonians on here (I'm nearby)... and joining those screaming "IT'S CROCHET"

I hate the bastard postbox topper fad though - they're forever being the cause of drama on the local FB groups about them being nicked, they're usually really badly done and nothing looks sadder than a flaccid acrylic monstrosity when it's been rained on and accented with birdshit.

Guessing that essence of terf woman is highly concentrated boiled piss.

Why does this make me think of the perfume I used to make as a kid? Water, rose petals and greenfly, stored in a salad cream bottle. Delightful. Can't understand why my mum never wore it.

This made me smile, down to the detail of the greenfly and salad cream bottle. Yes.Thanks so much.

I'm reminded of some Star Trek episodes which express a working out of some kind of transhumanist idea that people (human or otherwise) can be liberated from their bodies and become pure spirit, with or without technological assistance. It always seemed one of the sillier and duller ideas (I'm a serious ST fan and have quite high toleration of silly ideas) - I wonder is that linked to my being female? Are there women enthusiasts for transhuman theory?

I am also a serious ST fan - and have seen those episodes. Finding them very silly may well be a female thing.

I think everyone is getting carried away with creating a genuine Essence of Woman. All we need to do is put some girly labels on bottles of pink coloured tap water. We could also include details for investing in crypto currency and helping Nigerian princes to get their wealth out of the country.
If you believe humans can change sex then I think you can be considered somewhat gullible!

misscockerspaniel · 06/06/2024 11:59

Ooh, we could include on the label that the bottle contains a transfusion of XX chromosomes. Think how much money we could make. JKR, move over.

Shades of Perfume on this thread !😱

That was where my head went too, Rhino.

‘Crude bodies’ - dualism is a total nonsense. We are our bodies, there’s no floating essence rammed into a meat puppet.

Pigs don't glow at all, which is why they have to wallow.

See? Every day a school day, from distillation techniques to pig biology. Or is that physiology? ....oh no, I've started another hare running, so to speak, somebody is bound to know what category pig-wallowing comes under; this is FWR, where somebody knows anythingSmile
