Yes it does. I suppose some of the well known GC advocates fear association with KJK because she doesn't have a politician's approach. The changes that need to happen are political now, and legal, as well as societal. Perhaps they fear that genderism has such a hold on us that honesty can be painted as bigotry and written off.
I think someone like JKR or Helen Joyce or Julie Bindel might acknowledge the points around language that KJK makes as valid. Women don't agree on everything (or anything) and don't have to. But KJK makes the same points Sex Matters makes, Transgender Trend, JKR. She just refuses to um and ah and compromise truth or tell other women they should do that. And importantly she role models for other women - she practices what she preaches.
It is fine for these public spokeswomen to say for example that we shouldn't have to use pronouns but then nevertheless to go ahead and use them or choose to use them on occasion or argue publicly that is a personal choice. This misses the point that it is a difficult choice to follow at present. I think this messaging is so complicated it is still unsupportive of those who want to simply speak the truth.
Looking at the posts on this board around women fearing job loss or ostracisation for not using preferred pronouns tells us just that.
