Also that interview with Emma 8 years ago about her wee boy playing with dolls and how it was fine etc was very refreshing. I wonder at the change now; growing your hair long, liking dolls and "girly" things (as a boy) does not mean you are therefore a girl. It's SO regressive! As a wee girl my sister and I played with HeMan and thundercats and I loved dinosaurs. We were not boys. I miss the 90s. I feel like the 90s as a young pre teen then teenager we could wear what we wanted and no one cared. A boy in my class used to come in wearing dresses no one cared. He paired it with eyeliner and big doc martens. Well, the teachers would care about dress code as it wasn't the uniform, but as it was 6th year it wasn't as strict. I used to come in wearing kappa trousers!

Why? Is it because transing a child is a mainly middle-class fad and as a society we're reluctant to face up to the scale of abuse perpetrated by the middle-class as a group? Because it certainly is an abusive act imo.

I don't know Tate or Emma's story and I did find what KJK wrote quite shocking, but then so, I think, is pretending to your child that they can change sex.

Emma Bunton always seemed like such a sensible, low-key sort, this is really odd.

If you affirm a child as the wrong sex from a young age then puberty is going to be a hell of a lot worse for them. If her poor child has been told he's a girl then how is he meant to cope when he gets taller and hairier. It might not be abuse but it's pretty damn close if you ask me.

She could have made a post with a photo of the cake and a simple Happy Birthday Tate but instead chose to be deliberately provocative with the hashtag and the dumb message about being yourself.

He's now being led down a different path he should be taking.

It's absolutely sickening.

Now she pretends he's a girl.

A once a year post wishing your kid Happy Birthday doesn't seem like exploitation to me. Emma doesn't post pictures of Tate's face.

I suspect that KJK doesn’t consider herself to be a part of the “GC movement” if such a thing even exists. Billions of people across the globe understand that it’s not possible for human beings to change sex and many of those people will hold unpalatable views or express themselves imperfectly. I think the only person she’s likely to harm is herself.

I think she’s so right about everything BUT she seems to be getting a bit OTT. Her videos lately seem to consist of her posting clips of mostly American women (talking admittedly rubbish and gushing about their “trans child”) and then spending ages mimicking/mocking their accents.

I really hate to say it but she’s starting to come across slightly deranged.

How would you explain the exploitation of a 13 year old through the medium of social media then? Abuse comes in many forms.

like most on here I'm no fan at all of celebs trans-ing their kids, but in EB's defence the picture is subtle, you can't see the kid's face (wise), they've kept the old birth name, plus at 13 the kids is plenty old enough to know whether they're 'queer' one way or another.

I've never at all minded the semi-jocular use of female pronouns to refer to (e.g.) effeminate gay boys and men, it's the mind boggling blurring of this and the reality of sex that I can't abide.

The Cass review states that social transition isn't a neutral act. To affirm
her child, whilst understandable as parents always want to please their kids,
isn't in the best interests of the child.

Calling her a child abuser is ludicrous. KJK is working very hard to discredit the whole GC movement imo. These kinds of ridiculous comments overshadow the balanced, reasonable arguments that many people have carefully formed due to concern about children taking puberty blockers, having life-changing surgery etc. KJK is doing the GC movement no favours at all.

Photos I’ve seen would suggest Tate is a girl, or at least has been dressed as one 🤷‍♀️
