What a load of nonsense. I'm not excusing anyone of crimes
No, if someone is saying Myra Hindley was just an accomplice to male crime, that is excusing her - poor love didn't know what she was doing, women are always victims regardless.
It's sickening

FFS. Another derailer. But OK, I'll bite:
No one is saying "poor love" or anything of the sort.
It's in the court verdict that she was an accomplice.
Is that not enough for you?

@ForCoralFox

What could possibly constitute grooming?

Er, the whole conversation! The fondling the shoulders. No adult should be having such a private intimate conversation with a child.

No adult should be encouraging a child to transition saying they'll be happier.

We've already established that you are incapable of seeing safeguarding issues though so not surprising you can't see the grooming here.

the leaning in and looking in the mirror .... establishes an intimacy.

Again, no one has provided a credible source for that statistic.

It comes from the ministry of justice statistics.

I recommend you go and read them.

I'm not a doctor, so I'm not going to comment on specific protocols or care pathways.

No need.

Please post the evidence that the current health treatments offered to under 18 year olds is improving their lives.

if you cannot find that evidence to support your claim that the current health care treatments improve a person under 18's life, perhaps you should stop discussing medical treatments for those under 18.

Now, how about you provide evidence that in the long term the current treatment of surgeries dramatically improves the lives of adult patients?

ForCoralFox · 07/03/2024 17:30

So the Ministry Of Justice and the Office of National Statistices aren't credible sources for you?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/03/2024 17:34

How about we fund it better, and provide more?

Yes, let's ask the magic money tree.

ForCoralFox · 07/03/2024 17:31

Helleofabore · 07/03/2024 17:30

It is about children's futures actually. And believe it or not, there have been activists who have stated that children who have had their fertility destroyed by these treatments should know that they can always use surrogacy. In fact, there is a thread right at this moment discussing a primary school aged child who made the offer to their older sister. And one of the parents of the primary school aged child felt it would not be 'kind' to tell the children that this was not appropriate.

So, when we are discussing children who may or may not seek treatment, you bet that surrogacy is included in the discussion.

By the way, please post the evidence that the current health treatments offered to under 18 year olds is improving their lives. Just in case you missed it from a page or so back.

What a load of nonsense. I'm not excusing anyone of crimes.

I'm saying that it is vanishingly rare for women to commit sexual crimes compared to males because it is.

You are clearly not a fan of statistics which demonstrate that being male means that you are 99%/ 1% more likely to commit these crimes than women.

And the fact we are pointing out that men who identify as trans women commit these crimes at the same rate as any other man.

This is why women & girls need single sex spaces and we need to be cautious about men who claim to be women grooming children, as seen in the Hollyoaks clip.

It is the sign of a weak argument that you have to resort to lies to make any sort of a point.

It's really not. Trans children are really under threat these days, possibly being prevented from accessing healthcare, social transitioning, maybe not even allowed to use the correct pronouns at school. With the current anti trans moral panic I'm glad that Hollyoaks have the courage to run with this, and hope some trans children are helped by it.

Nobody is being prevented from accessing healthcare.

Do you mean being suggested that they wait until they're an adult before taking drugs that will sterilise therm and raise their risk of cancer and osteoporosis?

You spout such utter claptrap.

I'm not getting into surrogacy.

You brought it up 🤷‍♀️

I mentioned IVF, as part of a discussion about the remit of the NHS. You feel the NHS should simply tackle illness, I feel that it should have a broader role in promoting wellbeing and quality of life. I really hate it when people talk about all the things the NHS shouldn't provide. How about we fund it better, and provide more?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 07/03/2024 17:27

I don't watch Hollyoaks. To me the issue is that this "family friend" is telling a confused child that of course they are whatever sex they are, and that they should tell their parents. He is encouraging this girl to believe a dangerous untruth.

If he had just said that she should talk to her parents about the way that she was feeling, that she could dress / do / have hair however she liked as a girl, and that she couldn't become a boy it wouldn't be as bad.

It is as if he is trying to recruit her into a cult. No doubt he will be on hand to coerce "educate" her parents about better a live boy than a dead daughter....

If a child wants to take drugs and have surgery, it is absolutely the parents right to know. This is not the same as having a crush on someone.

It is the parents' responsibility to do the best for their children, and this includes making sure that young pre-teens do not make irreversible decisions that they will later regret.

Children change their minds all the time - parents know this. One of the most disgusting and insidious aspects of the whole "trans child" ideology is the painting of parents as some sort of evil enemy when for the overwhelming majority of families, they love their children and want the best for them.

This family friend does NOT know everything about that child, and it is absolutely irresponsible to encourage a child to keep secrets from their parents, a confide in another adult, especially when that particular adult is necessarily keen on validating trans identities. This is more about the adult's needs, not those of the child.

It looks very like grooming to me.

She literally insisted that the child should tell his parents. And no one has, as far as I'm aware, mentioned surgery at this stage.

This is not a professional context. From what I read, this person is a family friend. Family and friends are still allowed to show affection to children I believe.

What else are 12 year olds compelled to tell their parents? Their sexuality? Their crushes? All their friendship issues? The content of their dreams, like in The Giver?

"Ereshkigalangcleg
And that's why parents need to know exactly who their children are talking to online and at school etc.

But the parents do know this person. She works for them."

This statement is astonishing from someone who claims to have worked with at risk children. It shows zero understanding of how grooming happens. It's not just the children that are groomed but quite often the parents too. Abusers spend years sometimes getting themselves positions of trust.

Yes, but to be grooming someone you have to be actually doing something that constitutes grooming.

What is this woman doing? She told the boy not to play truant from school, briefly placed her hands on his shoulders, and told him to tell his parents what was distressing him. What could possibly constitute grooming?

Helleofabore · 07/03/2024 17:20

Almost 99% of sex abusers are men.

Trans women are men who pose no less of a threat than any other man.

Both of the women you mentioned were accomplices to male crime. It is vanishingly rare for a women to commit this kind of crime. It is increasingly common for trans women to do so.

2,297 reported incidents between 2015 and 2019, which will be dwarfed by unreported incidents. Are you really suggesting children be told it's safe to go anywhere with an unknown woman?
