Thanks to the census data, we can now show that 1 in every 585 trans women and England and Wales are convicted sex offenders.

That compares to 1 in every 2500-3000 men and 1 in every 243000 women.

So which is it? Are trans women inherently more dangerous than men that don't identify as trans, or are men pretending to me trans in order to offend?

The answer doesn't actually matter. The same solution fixes both issues.

And that's just the convicted ones.

Interesting timing of a new AMA thread with a purported forensic psychologist. Basically seems to be saying the opposite of this thread and transwomen/ males no problem in women’s prisons, women are worse etc etc.

www.mumsnet.com/talk/AMA/4714656-im-a-forensic-psychologist-working-across-male-and-female-prisons-in-england-ama

And I do, have mentioned in a previous reply but it’s a lot better for all involved for a transwoman to be housed in a protected wing in a women’s prison when looking at risk vs reward. Quite honestly if I were to be imprisoned next week I’d prefer to take my chances being housed with a transwoman compared to most of the women I come across in my day job. If you’ve ever seen the aftermath of a crotching incident you’d understand.

I think their AMA would benefit from some more questions

i was just coming over to post this.

PissedOffAmericanWoman · 07/01/2023 16:56

I’m sure that TRA’s will suggest these numbers are inflated because they are being unfairly targeted and discriminated against and say that this is just because of transphobes framing them. 🥲

Did you mean to post this?

Great, so happy most tw are safe, even better, with the stats as they are, tw are safe as houses in the mens. Cant justify being in with the women now.

Looking at these statistics, in prisons, transwomen are most at risk from themselves, not any other demographic.

Jarnsaxa · 07/01/2023 16:52

Well that's a surprise.
I'd also like to know how many others have been convicted of violent crimes in general. Assault, gbh, abh, domestic violence etc.

WomanIsBiology · 07/01/2023 16:51

Lurking previously BTW. Should have posted that this data reminds of what we do already know. This needs to be front page news. No more silencing and misdirection.

You missed the bit about being in league with the far right.

And the Christian Taliban!

584 in 585 trans women are not convicted sex offenders.

Thats hardly a high bar is it?

And thats the convicted ones. Hospitals are denying that rapes took place, when CCTV evidence confirms that actually they did.
If we consider how biased the public is towards transwomen, how many are getting away with it in broad daylight and not being convicted, arrested or even investigated because the police are captured by the ideology of this "most oppressed, most abused" demographic?

2,499 in 2,500 men are not convicted sex offenders - let's make everything mixed sex!

One thing to bear in mind is that the current rates of male offending against women are in an environment with still largely effective safeguarding and segregation where necessary.

You're not looking at the baseline rates when that's not in place.

So one possible factor for the higher rate for "transwomen" could be due the increased opportunity they've been given by getting a pass on access to women's spaces, or women letting their guard down around them. It may be closer to the underlying non-safeguarded male risk.

All good points, necessary.

LK1972 · 07/01/2023 16:43

Good point @NecessaryScene. Obviously I was not actually suggesting making everything mixed-sex in earnest, but your post is a helpful reminder of what 'transwomen are women' mentality allows to happen - removal of safeguards for women and exposing them to predators.

I think we need to see the MOJ stats on trans prisoners to be sure that the 125 women sex offenders definitely doesn’t include male who’ve successfully got their sex hidden in MOJ data. Of course this would only make it look worse for the TW ratio because it would add to the 82 who are known to be male, but it’s testament to the times that when I see “women sex offenders” written my instinct is to think it includes males.

Iirc that excludes TW prisoners with a GRC.

And it only includes currently incarcerated offenders - it was 92 serious sexual
offenders this time last year.

EfingNora · 07/01/2023 16:42

That bloody census is so darned transphobic! I demand a recount! Ref! He was offside! Waaaah! I want my mummy!
That's all I've got to say on the matter.

That may be so, but you have ignored the ratio, which is very much higher than in women and five times that of men.
