There’s a lot more going on there with that husband of hers .
She keeps saying she did it because Patrick told her she did.
Patrick, who went on holidays 19 days after his children were killed , was in a relationship less than a year later .
Her DNA was never found on those exercise bands only his was .

That’s not the law. I’m not sure why you’re posting incorrect stuff.

Im not posting incorrect stuff. I never said it was the law I said it was my speculation of how it would be interpreted. Good grief! I’m a British lawyer not an American one. Fucking hell

And yet you have the red pills insulting women and defending Patrick…. You couldn’t make it up

Clearly never seen anyone in the throes of psychosis then.

This 💯

Women so rarely kill and especially their children that is almost unfathomable to us that a women, let along a mother could. It’s part of the myth or the precarious pedestal of motherhood

I fear the endless hunting to prove the man did it, might make us feel better but it misses the point and it might mean that we a society desperately miss the lesson on maternal expectations and mental health that this case must teach us.

Women so rarely kill and especially their children

This is incorrect. Whilst women commit a very small proportion of killings overall, women kill their own children at roughly the same rate as men.

It still doesn’t stack up. What you’ve put about negligence isn’t correct.

KellyK2026 · 04/09/2026 20:43

But I think that is what people aren’t understanding. She has already been found guilty of killing her children, that’s not up for debate. The question is whether she is guilty of murder, in which case she will spend her life in prison, OR will she be found guilty of killing but not murder due to mental health, in which case she will spend her life in a mental institute. No way is she wanting to or can get out of it. The question is where she will be spending her time. In a place with people like Watts or in a place where she can receive help.

Edited

But she has not been found guilty - they have to find her guilty then - decide if she was insane or not

the evidence gathered brings serious doubt to her guilt. There is too much her 'ex' said' - her ex said she admitted to the crime - but physically she was in no state to admit anything

Yes she confessed, when she came round, but there are lots of cases where vulnerable people believe they have committed a crime when they have not .. she was 'told' she done it - her account of the night - does not match the crime scene.

It still doesn’t stack up. What you’ve put about negligence isn’t correct.

  • The CPS says there must be an existing duty of care, a breach, a reasonably foreseeable serious and obvious risk of death, causation, and conduct so bad that it amounts to a criminal act/omission.
  • have you seen the drugs she was on?!!!

Posts like this are indicative that something very strange is going on in relation to these murders. I have heard it described as Karmelo Anthony for white women and I can see why. For anyone who hasn’t heard of KA, he is a young black man in the US who murdered a white young man and, despite it being a pretty open and shut conviction, received huge support from many, mainly black, people, with huge sums raised and so on).

I am not comparing people wildly claiming that LC did not kill her children and/or that her exh did to those saying she should not be found guilty of first degree murder. Obviously these approaches are worlds apart. But I do think everyone should consider the extreme responses this case has raised - women dressing up in pink to stand outside the courthouse, the huge sums raised, the TikTok videos of women holding their babIes saying “Same, Lindsay”, the grinning and winking woman journalist etc etc - and should ask what on earth is going on to cause this.

Edited

Exactly this! It's really disturbing to see some of the reactions and strange to see such polarised reactions from men and women, with a lot of women supporting LC.
I think the crime is so horrific and goes against every instinct as a woman and mother, that some people can only contemplate another mother doing this if they are mentally ill. It doesn't seem clear cut to me at all. There is a distinct possibility she knew what she was doing.

There is something deeper going on in society alright and I don't know what it is.

BeethovenNinth · 04/09/2026 23:14

It’s so sad. Totally let down by professionals and clearly unwell. She will already be punished the rest of her life by having to live with what she did. We have to do better with mental illness / for everyone’s sake

I suppose there’s always been speculation around awful crimes but SM compounds it, and gives people more space and time to cement various theories.

dustabsorber · 04/09/2026 23:20

So she only knows she did it because her husband told her. I don't buy that.

Divinedownload · 04/09/2026 22:46

I don’t buy the mental illness cover story. She killed her kids.

I’ve had female family members who have had psychosis, one in particular is a revolving door patient. She’s had ECG, lithium, all the heavy duty meds, all the counselling and she is still incredibly unwell a lot of the time. Diagnosed a schizophrenic, another family member bipolar.

During one of her episodes, she was convinced she was a cat. Another time she was very distressed as she believed she had no head and was walking around headless. I could go on and on about her delusions, voices, hallucinations etc. She’s never killed anyone though. The large majority of mentally unwell peoples don’t murder people brutally.

Shes mad AND bad. Evil.

But that is confirmation bias, I’m so glad you friend hasn’t been dangerous but that doesn’t mean others with the same mental health diagnosis aren’t or at least cannot become dangerous. I’d also state that your friend hasn’t YET become dangerous and she might never but there is a good chance she could be, it is literally documented in medical literature

No it is correct, 95% of family killings are done by men

No, the numbers of killings of a child by mother and father are roughly equal. Australian article but it seems to be the same in other countries. Amongst infants there are more killings by mothers, more killings of older children by fathers.

Where are you seeing this 95% figure?

The differences between men and women who kill their children

Research suggests there are some differences between what drives women and men to kill their children. This will help us make sense of such unfathomable crimes, writes Denise Buiten.

You can just google family annihilation killing statistics

Possibly, or family annihilation murders which I haven’t seen statistics for but I would guess are mainly by men?

I don’t think she was let down by doctors, she had access to a lot of medical professionals and medication. I was trying to imagine the same scenario with the NHS, having to fill in a econsult then having to wait up to 48h for a phone call that might or might not offer you a face-to-face consultation…

Oh I think she was badly let down. Post partum psychosis is hardly even recognised in most of the USA, it doesn't even appear in DSM5 which is absolutely scandalous. Here in the UK we have been treating it, usually successfully for at least 45 years. We also have something called the Infanticide Act (1922 and 1938) which gives post partum mothers a degree of mercy if they kill their infants by recognising that PP mothers may be suffering hormone mediated disturbance of the mind. Even as long ago as the mid 19th century there was recognition of the problem, as shown by the fact that no mother was executed for killing their baby after 1849. Considering the Victorian penchant for hanging people for all sorts of things this was considered quite radical.

I see, you do indeed mean family annihilation killings.

To clarify, men commit the vast proportion of family annihilation killings, up to 95%.

But including all killings of their own children (so not just those murdered in a family annihilation) men and women kill roughly the same amount of children.

that just an odd splitting of hairs.

but even if we split that finely outside of family annihilation which is what I was talking about when I said women so rarely kill especially children (which is true as that vast majority of killing is done by men including family annihilation). I’ve seen a 60/40 or 57/43% split between men and women so still it is more common for men.

the overarching point still stands, women who kill is a far rarer occurrence then men. It is much more ‘shocking’ especially because mothers ‘meant’ to be eternally patient, gentle, pure, compassionate creatures (the social construct of motherhood) that when women go against this, we as a society cannot fathom it. This juxtaposition is why I think so many people are clinging to the fact that the husband did it and framed her

It’s almost as if mental illness manifests differently in different people. LC was never diagnosed with schizophrenia.

I personal know a schizophrenic who killed someone during a psychotic episode. It was a tragedy for everyone.
