She’s careful not to say that - she says ‘troubling and disturbing’ allegations.

ETA She doesn’t say ‘similar’.

Which could mean anything blueG

I don't think her half siblings would have known. If her story is true, she was told of the allegations by an RPO, presumably because of the possible ramifications for her as a member of the royal family.

Since Thomas Markle was not convicted or even charged with any crime, there's no reason his other children would be aware of any allegations against him.

Was she NC with her siblings then? I can’t remember. But even if they ware not told directly, you would think she might tell them if only to protect any other children that might come in to contact with him through them 🤷‍♀️

Exactly, she hasn’t referenced the latest allegations. This is TM Jnr new lid-lifting.

Starryfifty · 23/10/2026 19:36

My god but Harry has been so bloody reckless. I understand the "the heart wants what the heart wants" but this is the RF ffs. He didn't even attempt to meet the Markles. If he did, he might have been a bit more careful. This recklessness is bad enough in a "normal " family. He's a bloody liability

But we are to assume these are similar allegations because she did say that's why she didn't want her children near him. But she cut all contact with him before that so who knows ?

Those are very key questions.

We’ve been banging on for years on these threads about how peculiar it is that there’s been no critical comment from HaM on Andrew.

Harry only mentioned Andrew in Spare to complain that Andrew got more security than he did and that it wasn’t fair. Ffs.

I hope decent journalists now look again at every word Harry wrote and the York-Sussex-US finance relationships.

In her statement, she says that the supposed 'letter' contained ' troubling and disturbing allegations' against Thomas Markle. That's rather vague. The obvious assumption is that the allegations are related to today's news, but for all we know they could concern something completely different. That's if the 'letter' exists at all.

That would make perfect sense, IcedPurple, except that the same statement mentioned her thoughts being with children "who may have been harmed", and claimed they'd distanced their own children "to protect them" - all of which tends to tie 2018 and today together

It's also being said the "the Met have said they aren't investigating him", and even if it was their job (as opposed to the FBI etc) I'd suggest we all remember this comes from the Times saying they "understand" this is the Met's position

Call me picky, but with such serious allegations I believe we need something a bit better than some rag's "understanding" ...

Well, yeah. She says she’s deeply distressed by what’s come to light now. Of course it’s linked. But she doesn’t say what exactly was in the 2018 letter.

I always assumed it was because HAM were once close to the yorks and their hubbies ? But they all seem to have been given the boot like many others

bluegreygreen · 23/10/2026 19:42

The only reason I am being particular about the wording is that there is history, with the Sussexes, of them telling us that they ‘didn’t say that’ and that what was said was said by others.

FancyKitten · 23/10/2026 19:44

Or …..no letter …..no allegations…..no investigation!
let’s all remember…Meghans statement and markle jnr accusations are not the same .

So perhaps M had no reason to "wade in" & mention 2018 at all?

Other than to now say that that was the reason she went no contact?

Mark my words that is murky.
Harry would slag off Catherine about lipgloss, but Andrew? Nada

HAM have been back 7 weeks and so far we have had:

Security drama (and continuing)
Palace letter fallout
Photo dumps, back of kids heads
School change
Megan school WhatsApp drama
Harry told to f* off by a pissed of school kid
Teleprompter fail
Meg Swan emoji gate
Nottingham royal walkabout
Rant about "they are royals that work"
Grief grift
GQ interview (reconciliations may vary)
Now whatever we call this latest

AtIusvue · 23/10/2026 19:16

Until we find out more about the letter, either from Meg publishing it or the Met acknowledging it was sent, then it seems very convenient timing that horrific news about Megs family, came only after she secured the marriage to the Prince …..

Edited

Well exactly. I always said she played a blinder. I bet Doria could never believe she pulled it off.

The Sun (Meg n Harry preferred media)

State they’ve seen the letter

https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/40789811/meghan-markle-dad-thomas-warning-letter/

Well that’s really odd. That sounds like the letter was sent by a random. So not an official letter from anyone. Bizarre…

AtIusvue · 23/10/2026 19:51

The sun:

‘It is clearly addressed to the Met’s Fixated Threat Assessment Centre (FTAC), which deals with risks posed by obsessives to the Royal Family and VIPs.
The letter – which it’s understood has now been shared with police – alleges that Mr Markle had sexually abused a child.

The author also claimed in the letter that Mr Markle had admitted going to the Philippines and Thailand to abuse children.

In fact, it had been sent to the Met’s FTAC stalker and obsessive unit tasked with dealing with deranged maniacs posing a threat to Royals and politicians.
The letter is said to have been an attempt to warn the Met Police about fears over Mr Markle in the wake of the Windsor Castle wedding of Meghan and Harry.’

Lifestooshort71 · 23/10/2026 19:51

Do we know who wrote the letter and who it was addressed to? If it was an official one to the Met then they may have disclosed its contents to M but they wouldn't have shown it to her (let alone given her it/a copy). If one substituted 'letter' with 'information', that sounds more credible to me.

(I'm not going out on a limb and saying there was never a letter and it's all bollox because I've been caught before and had to guzzle a chunk of @jeffgoldblum 's cheesy hat)

This is really horrible. Alleged he abused a child. Obviously it was involved and allegations were them unfounded? Still doesn't put Meg in a good light IMO, did she follow up ?

Absolutely, bluegreygreen, and if it suited I've no doubt the same gambit would be used again, but as mentioned above the statement also included references to children who may have been harmed and protecting their own, so she'd have a hard job pretending the CSA allegations weren't what she meant

Doesn't mean she wouldn't try though ...

AtIusvue · 23/10/2026 19:55

If they had info on Markle Snr…..why send it to this dept? I’ve never even heard of it, how would they know to send it there?

Whats the date of the letter? Why not publish that?

CluelessAmerican · 23/10/2026 19:55

Is there any proof that he was going to the Philippines and Thailand during 2018 or before?
