Let's see if David Sherborne is free for this case.

That's sarcasm, isn't it.

He has released his Ingriftus tickets

Does that mean he had secured funding ?

Frankly I would never have reported someone who was obviously so desperate to be reported and have a post removed.

Yes, I never blamed Meghan for cutting off relations with her family. They are all low life.

I also think the Palace errred big time in letting her become a working royal so quickly. Not only was she an American actress who knew nothing about royal life, her family were obviously problematic. Quite how problematic they may not have known, but it was clear there was potential for serious trouble ahead. She should have been told to wait a while, especially as she was pregnant within a few months of her wedding, to settle into royal life before being allowed to officially represent the monarchy of a country she knew and cared little about.

But that's all history now I guess.

To be fair, they apparently did offer her the choice to keep working as an actress and she refused.

But I do get it, William and Kate were given to privilege to settle, have their family and enjoy married life.

They only became full-time working royals in 2017, 6 years after getting married

You have spectacularly missed the point. Extraordinary.

Vitriol is OK IF you've met them and IF they're elected, is I think the point that poster is making.

To be fair, it was strongly suggested that the Sussexes take things slowly (it was suggested Meghan continue her acting, mentoring and documentation were offered. William suggested they slow down before marriage even), but it was not possible to enforce any of this because the palace would have been accused of belittling them or racism or some other discrimination as they were determined to forge ahead with their star quality. Once Harry had determined to marry Meghan, the palace were on a hiding to nothing

No, that's not the point. They have totally failed to understand my point.
However, I suspected that would be the case 🤷🏼

why bother?
do you and the others think we care what you think?
do you think after over 6 years of the same insults and unoriginal statements to try and stop people commenting…suddenly you will be the one victorious in Meghans defence?

Again, you obviously weren’t here when Meghans mad supporters were posting about the POW (as well as others)

But I don’t know why I’m writing in the past tense given they still appear on these threads and are as they always were.

I thought it was an option that they could've taken things slowly like W&C? Wasn't it at their insistence that they 'hit the ground running?'
I was under impression Meghan couldn't wait to start competing with Catherine, shaking up and modernising the RF and being 'a breath of fresh air'.
However I don't know much about this part of their story, so I might be getting my timeline mixed up.

The Palace would have been accused of racism if they hadn’t let M become a WR straight away .
The late Queen suggested they take time out first . They refused . M was offered support from lots of people but refused all of it .
Any attempt to rein her in would have been seen negatively.

Yes the problem was that Harry was older and already a working royal. If he’d married while still in the military, then a year or so to settle /learn would have been possible. It’s also worth noting that anyone who harry married would have also been expected by the public to be straight into joining him on official engagements.

I’ve said before that given that problem of harry already being working royal, on paper Meghan was a better choice than some of his exPs, being someone already media trained, already used to crowds and being in the public eye, used to public speaking etc. I bet they were hopeful she could be easier to get ready fast than others.

Libellous chatter?

I think we all saw the libellous chatter from many around that sleazy twat. People still calling him a paedophile and a rapist when there is no actual evidence of the sort.

Do I think he should be held to account for his actions? Absolutely. But it would be difficult to prove he knew she was trafficked and that in law, sadly, doesn’t prove the other allegations either. Doesn’t stop me thinking that one day he may get his comeuppance though.

As for the latest debacle surrounding M? Who knows?

If he is guilty of the allegations? I hope justice is served. If he is not? I would have serious questions of TSJ and M given that they have laid out their cards in such a spectacular fashion.

Well, I wouldn't lump Burnham in with Trump and Netanyahu personally. However these are all heads of state (again, except Burnham) who have been elected. None of which applies to this couple.

TBH, I think if Trump or Netanyahu (or Putin or Xi) ever stumbled across this thread they'd close the door very softly behind them and tiptoe away.

Edited

Public figures should expect public scrutiny, I agree.

Would they? No other royal wife in recent years became a working royal immediately on marriage. Not Kate, not Sophie. It would have been entirely reasonable to say that they were giving Meghan time to settle into her new life, especially as she had no experience of royal life or even Britain in general, and became pregnant within months of marriage.

Anyway, sometimes you have to do what is right regardless of what brickbats are hurled your way. Letting her represent the monarchy so soon was a mistake.
