You were the very poster who alleged that Harry and Meghan take cocaine because of something they do with their tongues.
Don't tell me I don't post facts when you indulge in this sort of "discussion"
As you were

Particularly the sympathetic treatment of slavery and rape.

Oh yes, that film's a charmer!

The Palace would have been accused of racism if they hadn’t let M become a WR straight away .

Would they? No other royal wife in recent years became a working royal immediately on marriage. Not Kate, not Sophie. It would have been entirely reasonable to say that they were giving Meghan time to settle into her new life, especially as she had no experience of royal life or even Britain in general, and became pregnant within months of marriage.

Anyway, sometimes you have to do what is right regardless of what brickbats are hurled your way. Letting her represent the monarchy so soon was a mistake.

But exceptions were consistently made for her, like how she got to spend Xmas with the Royals when she wasn’t even married. That once married she very quickly got a royal engagement with the Queen. Something Kate had to wait years for.

They were highly sensitive to any perceived slights, so I think they probably would turn, what would have been a great way to introduce her into royal life, into a an example of the prejudice she suffered.

Theres a victim narrative that runs through everything they do and they probably wouldn’t have tolerated a measured introduction to RF life.

I absolutely agree it was a mistake but I think there was a lot treading on egg shells with regard to the Sussexes and yes they absolutely would have found themselves accused of lots of “isms” if they hadn’t let Meghan have her own way. The RF were between a rock and a hard place. It would have been more than just brickbats. Especially as we know that Meghan likes to see herself as the second coming of Diana and there are a lot of sensitivities around Diana. They were also probably thinking that,as a more mature woman, Meghan would make an effort to fit in. With hindsight we know this was far from the case. But hindsight is a wonderful thing

She was given everything and still managed to make herself into a victim anyway. There was just no pleasing her.

Deflect all you want. You alleged they took illegal drugs because of something they do with their tongues. That is not discussion that is defamation. Be careful you can be sued for that.

diddl · 24/10/2026 15:59

Why would M have been shown the letter?

Why wouldn't the Met have passed it on?

So if she misremembered the date then the allegations weren't the reason she went nc with her dad when she did?

Meghan and Harry know all about defamation.

Perhaps they could give you a job keeping them in check.

100% and nothing would ever have been enough for her, short of the Queen abdicating and handing Meghan the crown.

Yes the problem was that Harry was older and already a working royal. If he’d married while still in the military, then a year or so to settle /learn would have been possible. It’s also worth noting that anyone who harry married would have also been expected by the public to be straight into joining him on official engagements.

I’ve said before that given that problem of harry already being working royal, on paper Meghan was a better choice than some of his exPs, being someone already media trained, already used to crowds and being in the public eye, used to public speaking etc. I bet they were hopeful she could be easier to get ready fast than others.

Surely there wasn't a massive obligation on Meghan too to be a working royal. And things could have been tailored for Harry so he didn't have to do many foreign trips. Especially given that it was announced that Meghan was pregnant just five months after they married.

I really don't buy this idea that there was a huge demand from the public that Meghan had to be alongside Harry for all his public engagements, and she certainly didn't have to go to rugby matches or military events or Invictus stuff. The public is also capable of quickly getting used to new situations.

I also don't agree that Meghan was "better trained" than Cressida or Chelsy. Cressida is British and from an aristocratic family, so she understands what the royal family is about and is accustomed to Harry's environment. Chelsy went to boarding schools and university in the UK and so has an understanding of British society. Meghan is very American with a very fixed idea about things and is still clueless about British society and the royal family. Her over-the-top statement yesterday is proof of that.

Yes, they were considered to be a good match in the beginning. I always wondered why they didn’t just ease into the marriage, have the kids. I don’t think Megxit would have happened if they’d had a crystal ball… Covid, Trump, Queen & PP deaths, Charles & Kate cancers. But here we are now…
