And why didnt MM if she knew all about it for 8 years do something? Are the photos and videos over 8 years old, or are there ones since 2018 when more children are abused?

She would have known he wasn't prosecuted so she must have assumed he was innocent? So why still be estranged from him? This really makes no sense.

I think her statement is taking advantage of the situation to excuse her estrangement. And that this is probably the first she's heard of it. That's the only thing that logically makes sense.

It can take a long time to prosecute. There has to be an investigation and getting digital forensic details can take a long time. Then there can be a long wait for a trial date.
It can take years in the UK.

Meghan gave a statement saying she has known for some time and that is why she has distanced herself and not allowed him to see her children

And she never told anyone? Or warn anyone about him?

I think her statement was a huge mistake.

I'm sure in the fullness of time, it will all come out. But like you, I have so many questions. Why now? Did the investigation in 2018 come to nothing? Were the alleged victims spoken to? When did the alleged offending start/stop?

8 years and not even an arrest? No that doesn't wash. Are the FBI that slow? He was in the US at the time remember.

And the gall of many posters here who said how awful she was for denying the kids a relstionship with their granddad. Imagine if she had what the comments would be like now. So she did the right thing in protecting her children yef she is an awful mother according to mnay on here.

It was always clear he was not a nice man. But some people only care about criticising harry and Meghan and will often invent reasons to bash them. Facts don't matter.

Constantrunner · 23/10/2026 22:23

I will let you into a secret, it can take that long in the UK.

TBF it was only MM that knew apparently and she didn't warn anyone else. No one else with kids.

Why are you making things up? You have zero idea what happened.

He wasn't in the UK though.

Are the FBI going to let him continue to abuse children for 8 years? Before even arresting him? No.

Yes I think Phillip did say something (vile) like that which is why I assumed the commenter said what he did. And the comment definitely said 'the help'.

The implication was clear i.e. because Meghan was mixed race, she was only fit to be the help. It was disgusting and there are definitely people who think that way.

No. This is all made up to suit people's narrative about the RF being racist when they are not. Much like MM did. Yawn.

What Prince Phillip is actually reported to have said is 'One steps out with actresses, one doesn't marry them'.

No she didn't, she said she was given a letter. Saying she knew he was abusing kids and has admitted it makes her sound like she's done something wrong. She hasn't in regards to her dad's alleged crimes.

If she'd spoken out in public she could have damaged an ongoing investigation.

I feel really bad for her, I think she was in an impossible situation.

OneTealMentor · 23/10/2026 22:34

Scuttlingupabove · 23/10/2026 22:31

Her statement today.

The statement doesn't imply she knew he directly abused them, it could also indicate she was aware of him viewing the abuse materials

valeriy2 · 23/10/2026 22:36

I can’t begin to imagine how bad this must have been for Meghan but one thinks for sure I wouldn't be criticising her for what she did or didn't do. This is totally of piste for most people and thankfully so. She has had to remain silent whilst having bile poured upon her head year after year.

MyrtleLion · 23/10/2026 22:38

Scuttlingupabove · 23/10/2026 21:33

But in Oprah she went in great detail about why she was estranged. Was that all lies? And Harry saying in 2022 in Netflix it was because of him that she lost her dad and if he wasnt married to her she would still have a Dad. Who was a paedo??

She cut her father off years before the wedding. But said he was going to walk her down the aisle? She didn't have kids to protect in 2018 so why did she say the only reason she cut him off was to protect her kids?

He may well be a paedo..who knows. But her statement has made everything very odd.

Maybe she didn’t want to say my dad’s a paedophile?

Maybe she knew from personal experience?

Why do you always have to ascribe bad ulterior motives to her?

NautilusLionfish · 23/10/2026 22:38

prh47bridge · 23/10/2026 20:45

On the information we have, there was nothing for the Met to investigate. No offence was committed in the UK, nor was there anything that could be brought to trial in the UK. It is not the Met's job to investigate offences allegedly committed in the Philippines by a US citizen who has never been resident in the UK, even if that individual is related to the royal family by marriage.

Not entirely true. They can make a referral to authorities in country where crimes allegedly occurred or the accused's country of origin.

I feel bad for the alleged victims waiting 8 years for justice, if that's truly how long it's taken to investigate.

I wonder why there was no investigation? He's not even been charged at this point, has he? Correct me if I'm wrong.

It’s far worse for the children on those photographs

In my country in school we used to have English comprehension. We would read text, analyse it, separate fact from opinions, etc.
She did not know. She was given letter telling her accusations had been made. She trusted police were dealing with it.

That's how I understand it. He hasn't been charged with anything.
