Not surprised in the slightest . Some of the posters are the self same posters who said that Meghan was evil, wicked, cruel for not allowing her father to see the children . Now it turns out that he is allegedly a paedophile now they are questioning why she wrote to him when his leg was amputated if she was aware of the allegations
The woman can’t win
Her detractors are just pissed off because they can’t use the well worn stick they have beaten her with ‘ look at how she treats her poor , elderly father’.
They all have egg on their faces

I personally never said anything about Meghan not letting her kids meet her father - and I'm not sure even those who did comment on it have egg on their faces given Meghan's "Dear Daddy" letter and similar moments, not to mention that there was no indication of such allegations about Mr Markle before (even this 2018 letter she mentions seems to have led nowhere in terms of the investigation).

What strikes me, however, is that given how Meghan apparently had reasons to deny her children one grandfather, why she then also deprived them of their other grandfather - the man who walked her down the aisle when her own father didn't.

Another striking thing about Meghan's family relationships was the lack of any family aside from her mother at her wedding. Even if the Markles are a mess and she is distanced from them, surely she has some other relatives on her mother's side? Aunts, uncles, cousins?

@RedTagAlanI don’t understand your post. I don’t read is as the Met or, isn’t it one and the same?

threetrainers · 23/10/2026 15:00

@RedTagAlan I didnt find it ambiguous 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don’t think Charles and William have protected and enabled him. He has been stripped of his titles and kicked out of his home. Yes they have subsequently re housed him, but they need to keep him contained. However, many have said that AMW’s behaviour was covered up. From that point of view, Meghan has done the same with her father

They only recently stripped him of his title and kicked him out of his house to save face. Andrew has been behaving badly for decades and the royal family were well aware of it. Epstein was invited to stay at royal residences. The Queen paid off a victim. Don't tell me that weren't aware of exactly what he was doing. They could have easily put a stop to his behaviour years ago but chose to ignore it.

Well she announced that the RF were racist so why not denounce her father whose behaviour is worse

It's a puzzler

threetrainers · 23/10/2026 14:55

What has she covered up? the fact there was a letter about allegations? Is that the same as associating with a convicted sex offender?

Which convicted aex offfender?

Starryfifty · 23/10/2026 15:02

If H knew this was coming out, why the hideous GQ interview? Ok I know it was recorded a while ago but he could have pulled it

threetrainers · 23/10/2026 15:03

@smilesyEpstein of course

Of course but this is all glossed over. They only did something publicly when the attention became untenable.

Maybe she chose specifically to get involved in charities that protected children from online sexual abuse because that is something could actually do to help children having been advised not to jeopardise any police investigation about her own father by speaking out?

That makes no sense to my logic sorry.

To me, she choose to take on online child safety. A noble cause. But at the same time she used old info, and possibly updates since 2018, to keep her father from her own kids to protect them from him, while he moved to the Philippines. A country that is notorious for.....

If you are suggesting she took on online safety to protects kids from what she thought her father was/is, but saw her father move, and did not speak out... surely ethics come into play ?

As in, I won't allow my father access to my kids because I think he is a danger to them, but other kids ? Hey ho.

Is she involved in charities that protect children from online sexual abuse? I thought it was more about bullying and very general other things (i.e. it could be anything online related, not specifically sexual abuse, it's all very vague).

That letter was sent in 2018. Surely the investigation must have come to a conclusion by now? Since no action has been taken against Thomas Markle, it's probably safe to say that, after 8 years, the investigation has concluded and it found nothing of substance.

Harry himself heard them say things he felt showed they were concerned about their child’s skin colour. If they did make those comments, it was not a police matter and therefore Meghan repeating them wouldn’t interfere with a police investigation.

The information about her father came from another source, someone she didn’t know and trust like her husband. It is a police matter, it is against the law and Meghan repeating the accusations could interfere and ruin a police investigation and fair trial.

I would repeat something my husband told me that wasn’t about a police matter. I wouldn’t repeat something a person less well known to me said that was a police matter.

Do you see the difference?

Imagine being so outraged about having to curtsey to the Queen that you make an entire docuseries about it. Chortling and scoffing like a vacuous fool.
And all the while you are somehow not outraged that your strongly-suspected paedophile father is still roaming around third world countries known to be friendly to these proclivities.

Yep. The pair of them make fools of themselves with every statement, every reality show, every book, every moan about 'nude tights' or 'the smallest room in the castle'

Yet this went unmentioned when if allegations were proven they would have known it would have been their get out of jail free card regarding their apparently heartless treatment of TM.

So why sit on it and only now be all devastated when the crazy brother makes serious allegations??

SerafinasGoose · 23/10/2026 15:14

Wrong. The British Royal Family is very much the business of the British people.

I am referring to the British justice system and the way in which that operates.

But you already know this.

She can’t go around accusing her father of being a paedophile to the world, when the police are investigating it.

The problem lies with the police and authorities not doing enough. This wouldn’t have been something Meghan was allowed to do, or able to do.

I don’t know why people aren’t understanding that, I can only presume it suits them not to.

Well it makes sense to my logic 🤷🏻‍♀️ plenty of people affected by child abuse want to get involved in charities protecting children from abuse. Plus if she felt her hands were tied in relation to her own father then this would be an alternative way to help.

Tryingtothinkofausername · 23/10/2026 15:16

Too many comments to read them all but Meghan wrote to her father in August 2018, parts of the letter he had published after her friends said she'd reached out in reconciliatory times. Meghan also contacted Thomas in 2021 by email when he was in hospital. The journalists later confirmed that a handwritten letter from Meghan was eventually delivered to Thomas.

Meghan is now saying she didn't want anything to do with her father once she learned of the allegations soon after the wedding when a letter was shared with her by British police. She also claims the allegations are the reason she hasn't introduced her children to their grandfather.

If someone claimed my father had downloaded such terrible things I'd assume he was innocent as he's never given me cause to think it possible. I'd introduce my children to him too and, if there was a sliver of doubt it could be true, I'd always be there when they were together. I wouldn't spend eight years believing the worst.

If as someone upthread mentions, Meghan will reveal after Thomas has died that he abused her, I'd question why she was ever in touch with him, particularly in such gushing tones, once she reached adulthood.

No obviously not she could have said 'there are serious allegations/reasons which I cannot discuss due to legal restrictions' and left it at that. If true.

Mumek · 23/10/2026 15:18

If MM had been aware of this there is absolutely no way she would have kept quiet. She has just jumped on this accusation to try to justify her abhorrent treatment of her father. She must think we all idiots.

SerafinasGoose · 23/10/2026 15:19

PrincessScarlett · 23/10/2026 13:29

She is not despicable at all. Thomas Markle is the one who is despicable if the allegations are true. Meghan was told by police it was being investigated. There was nothing more she could do. If she had gone to the press about her father being a child abuser with no actual proof there would have been all sorts of venemous attacks on her and her father would have sued her.

Meghan cannot win whatever she does and I find putting the blame on her for her father's alleged crimes is also despicable.

Precisely.

I am sick and tired of seeing women held fully responsible for the actions of autonomous, adult men. Strangely enough, however, the York sisters were accorded a good deal of sympathy when they were the ones in this invidious position.

I'm at a loss to know what this woman was reasonably expected to do. Inform the police? That makes absolute sense, seeing as they were the ones who originally informed her. She wasn't merely sitting back and letting child abuse continue - the issue was already in the hands of the authorities.

They stripped him of his titles when the other allegations came out

And its been said on other threads but it needs repeating rich people who can afford it have always been advised to settle civil suits plus he has never been convicted of any sex offences he hasnt actually been convicted of anything has he? Imagine if he was innocent (admittedly unlikely but....Birmingham six were "guilty as charged" for years)

Edited

But Meghan is talking now about the 2018 allegations (whatever they were - we know nothing beyond the alleged existence of a mysterious letter).

If, as you claim, she wouldn't speak publicly about something that was a police issue, then why is she speaking out publicly about the 2018 letter? Does that mean it's no longer a police issue? In which case, the police investigation - if there was one - must have ended and given there was no action taken against Thomas Markle Sr, he must have been exonerated.

Moreover, Meghan is putting out a statement now about these new allegations about her father while there is an ongoing police investigation. So, contrary to what you claim, she is speaking out during a police investigation and in a way that may prejudice it.

Oh suddenly the allegations of the nc drug addled crazy brother are gospel according to some on here when previously we have been told not to give the estranged Markels any credence whatsoever.

Tell me you know nothing about the complexity family of relationships, even when abuse of you or others has taken place, without telling me…..

Seriously, people continue to have contact with people that abused them…sometimes forever. Sometimes they have a mental health crisis when they have their own children. Sometimes it takes years of therapy to get to the stage where you accept what happened and stop contact. And a million other outcomes. Having an abusive parent whether that abuse is aimed at you or others, is really complex. Many studies are there to read if you wish. It’s simply not as easy as saying what you would do. You don’t know until you are in the situation and even then what you would do, isn’t how the next person would react due to having different experiences etc.

I really can’t stand it when people try to simplify these things.
