CORONATION STREET THREAD. Now in late September 2026. **No spoilers please.**

Wow, we got through the last thread pretty quickly! (Again!)

So Betsy is still recovering from her stroke, Debbie's condition (dementia) is getting worse.

Tim and Sally still have Tim's cousin Ross's daughter Lucy in their care as Ross killed his wife - Lucy's mother, and is in prison... Or so we have been lead to believe. There's a question mark over whether Ross did kill Lucy's mum at the moment, (or if it was Lucy!) after Lucy spoke to her dad the other night and said 'what if they found out what I did!' Sally is struggling with Lucy, especially after she threw her phone at Sally and hit her in the face.

Sarah is still in prison, (for killing Theo,) and hasn't had her trial yet. She has finished with Kit, who went on to sleep with her daughter Bethany!

Bernie's aunt (Celeste) who was trying to get Todd to do a funeral for her, died a few weeks ago, but not before dropping the bombshell that she has breast cancer, and Bernie may have the gene. So may Gemma and the quads, and Kit, and Brody...

Kit was tested. He has breast cancer. He is devastated - (naturally.)

Carl has just got a job in the cab office.

Probably missed some stuff!

I mentioned this in the last thread, but I can't remember if Todd did ever do Celeste's funeral by the way... She's been dead nearly 4 weeks now. I don't think they've mentioned her funeral for about 3 weeks. And I definitely don't remember them doing it.......

Sounds as if Bethany just hoped for the best and didn’t think about the MAP. She seems very switched on , so I am surprised she didn’t think about it.

I agree. She seems more clued up than Sarah. It sometimes seems as though Bethany is Sarah's mum the way she talks to her and reasons with her, possibly because she had her so young so there are only 13 years between them.
I wonder how Sarah will react to the pregnancy . It might be one of those situations where she won't know Kit is the father until it comes out years down the line.
I think Beth will have the baby.

Just watching Tuesdays. Wondering if Bethany will sleep with Ryan and pretend the baby is his.

It must be a generational curse. Bernie turned out to be the real mum of the local copper, who in turn was revealed as the real father of Brody Michaelis. Now it will happen again in a couple of years as he no doubt surfaces as the Dad of ‘Bethany and Ryan’s baby’. 🙄

Then we’ve got Ben, the shock son of Jim McDonald. Jack, who was Tyrone’s son but was actually Kevin Webster’s. Karl, the surprise offspring of Debbie Webster. Rachel, the grand-daughter of Christina. I’ve probably forgotten a load more.

Soon we’ll discover that Eileen and George had a ONS 40 odd years ago and he’s Todd’s real rather.

ETA: Didn’t Daisy already have a ‘Who’s the Daddy’ pregnancy with Daniel/Kit?

Steve had the daughter...Emma?...who could have been big Jim's so she could. Tyrone had the fake mother. Our Brian thought Sarah Louise was his cousin's child. Ken has about 100 children.
I just want one ordinary family.

You just know what's coming.

The only surprise I can think of was when it didn't happen with Abi and Carl.

Abi had already had a baby from her last one night stand with someone else’s partner!

In real life, if you were pregnant and had two possible fathers, one a new boyfriend and the other a one night stand with your mother’s partner, you’d probably not go down the keeping it route, surely!

But no doubt she’ll leave the pregnancy test on the living room table in the house she shares with one of the possible fathers, like nobody would!

I wish Corrie would realise that we’d be quite happy watching two long term, relatively nice characters like Ryan and Bethany fall in love without this side drama. But now they’ve spoiled that!

I felt sorry for poor Liam pointing out just how Corrie parenting works.

He mentioned how Jake had been suspended but was being served up his favourite breakfast.

Later on Gary was promising pizza and holidays to Jake.

Liam is about the only decent kid left.

I’d forgotten about Tyrone. He’s had more parents than Chesney has kids!

I find all soaps weird in their depictions of sex and pregnancy….

No one seems to use contraception. Now ok I’m old and set in my ways, but surely most people use condoms at least on a one night stand, or until the relationship is serious and you decide you want babies with the other person?

How come everyone in soaps are super fertile? I mean obviously it only takes once, but everybody gets pregnant on a one night stand in soapland!!!

You’d think that they would all use contraception, but never do. I’d also be concerned about STDs as well as pregnancy, but it doesn’t enter their heads it seems.

One point that was raised was her stoma. Now, I’ve never known anyone with one but would it impact pregnancy?

I wondered the same about the stoma. I wonder if they have to replace the tube from the bowel to the bag as the belly gets fatter.

I watched today's episode earlier. I have thoughts but will wait until its been aired.

My husband has a stoma, but obviously hasn’t been pregnant! But I doubt they would have to move a stoma for a pregnancy. Especially not Bethany’s always flat and inconspicuous stoma that she never thinks about!
