Wow, we got through the last thread pretty quickly! (Again!)

So Betsy is still recovering from her stroke, Debbie's condition (dementia) is getting worse.

Tim and Sally still have Tim's cousin Ross's daughter Lucy in their care as Ross killed his wife - Lucy's mother, and is in prison... Or so we have been lead to believe. There's a question mark over whether Ross did kill Lucy's mum at the moment, (or if it was Lucy!) after Lucy spoke to her dad the other night and said 'what if they found out what I did!' Sally is struggling with Lucy, especially after she threw her phone at Sally and hit her in the face.

Sarah is still in prison, (for killing Theo,) and hasn't had her trial yet. She has finished with Kit, who went on to sleep with her daughter Bethany!

Bernie's aunt (Celeste) who was trying to get Todd to do a funeral for her, died a few weeks ago, but not before dropping the bombshell that she has breast cancer, and Bernie may have the gene. So may Gemma and the quads, and Kit, and Brody...

Kit was tested. He has breast cancer. He is devastated - (naturally.)

Carl has just got a job in the cab office.

Probably missed some stuff!

I mentioned this in the last thread, but I can't remember if Todd did ever do Celeste's funeral by the way... She's been dead nearly 4 weeks now. I don't think they've mentioned her funeral for about 3 weeks. And I definitely don't remember them doing it.......

It must be horrible playing the bad guy ! The Ross actor does it well though

I agree. The actor does it so well! (Ian Burfield.) I really loathe him! 😆

Don't forget Corrie is on tonight folks! 8.30pm. To make up for it not being on on on Thursday (when The Pride Of Britain Awards were on.)

Agree. I think many people have had someone close to them have dementia. I have known mostly neighbours and acquaintances with it. Only one relative. One neighbour I had some 15 years ago was diagnosed at just 55. He was as right as rain at 53-54, and working full time, and had a full social life. He seemed to go downhill so quickly. By 56 he was unrecognisable as the man we all knew.

His wife had just retrained as a nurse (in her late 40s) and had been doing it for 2 years, and she had to give it up to be full time carer to him. He had a bad heart too and had had a heart attack shortly after being diagnosed with dementia. She said (a year after he was diagnosed) that she hoped he would have a heart attack again soon and this would take him. Rather than a decade or more of him suffering with dementia.

She got her wish. Shortly before his 57th birthday, he had a heart attack at home, and was dead before the paramedics got to him.

My one relative who had dementia (uncle - my bio auntie's husband,) was a strong feisty man who had his own business, and employed 55 people. He travelled a lot, he had several high performance vehicles as they were his passion,he played golf and tennis, and was president of several sports clubs, and was on the board of school governors. At 62, he suddenly started to get very forgetful, and very angry and shouty. He never used to be like this. He was diagnosed with dementia. Died 3 years later. Good healthy life full of privilege and wealth, and yet it still took him at just 65 years old. Very sad.

Sadly I think many people will have experience of a family member who has/had dementia.
My MIL had it and went from being a meek viicar’s wife who wouldn’t harm a fly to an absolute tyrant.
And I can completely understand how incredibly hard it must be to live with someone who has dementia. But I don’t think Debbie is far enough down that road for Ronnie to give up just yet.

I sound like the only one, but I can understand why Bride lady was wound up. If I had arrived at my wedding venue to find it double booked and Debbie being strange. At least she doesn’t that her husband has Debbie offering herself on a plate to him! Sometimes people lucky enough to not have experienced dementia don’t notice or understand what is obviously dementia behaviour to those people who have.

JellyBeanSpring25 · 24/10/2026 19:00

Sadly, I too have experience of a close relative with dementia. For us, dealing with the paranoia which crept in slowly, then became unbearable. Awful awful disease.

Her biological parents have never had much of a mention but perhaps one of her numerous gay dads has fathered a child?

Son of Billy?

Plot twist! 😱

Is the actress who plays Alya pregnant? Big coats, always sitting down and tonight a weird blouse with a huge bow!

I can't find any information to suggest she is @Lorrymum She had a baby 2 years ago. But isn't pregnant currently AFAIK.

Summer never seemed very interested in her birth parents, which i think is odd considering she has lost so many dads, and then there is her unknown health history too.

Yeah, I am surprised Summer hasn't explored this too.

I still reckon Marco will turn out to be Summer's brother or something. Having him locked up means they can't sleep together. I can't think of any other reason why we (or Summer) are expected to care two hoots about him on such a short acquaintance.

I dunno, they didn't have her booking on record I think, and she has already sent out the invites, you would be pissed off. When her fella tells her about the shenanigans with Debbie she really will hit the roof!

The bride looked the sort that would just moan on and on and complain a lot , but it’s still business isn’t it.

Yes she did. And yes it is...

The woman would have been hard work I think. I mean, I'm sure someone said 'sorry, the lady (Debbie) has dementia' and she still rolled her eyes and basically said it was a madhouse (or something similar,) and didn't care that Debbie was unwell.

Dementia really chips away at people. Younger people like Debbie are physically fit and look well. I can see why she feels able to go to work. Wedding lady looked like a bridezilla .
Ross is horrible. I have no idea what Marco looks like. And Sarah has lived on the street long enough to know that the daddy won't be the nice man.

Yeah it is really insidious isn't it (dementia,) and such a cruel illness.

As for wedding lady, yes, she was giving off bridezilla vibes, although I have to say, I don't blame her for bailing, and cancelling the wedding at the hotel.

Yes, it is a bit of a weird one isn't it? As has been said (by @thenightsky ) I couldn't pick him him out a line up! I can't picture him in my head. At all.

And even though he is part of a storyline now, he's not present. We've not seen him for over a month I don't think...

In the real world, any woman who met a man and dated him 2-3 times, then discovered he was a wrong 'un, and was in prison - even on remand - would run a mile!

LesserSpottedCharacter · 24/10/2026 13:32

I think actors often enjoy playing baddies @the80sweregreat , it lets them exorcise their inner demons or flex their creative muscles or something along those lines.

You may have a point @Deadringer .

Ross did come across as a bit of a panto villain in the prison scenes lurking in the background with a classic "I'm up to something" look on his face. He was really over egging the nice guy routine with Maria too.

I am assuming he is in on the drugs trade and Gary will be the fall guy.

Yeah, something's going to go awry with Gary isn't it?
