Wow, we got through the last thread pretty quickly! (Again!)

So Betsy is still recovering from her stroke, Debbie's condition (dementia) is getting worse.

Tim and Sally still have Tim's cousin Ross's daughter Lucy in their care as Ross killed his wife - Lucy's mother, and is in prison... Or so we have been lead to believe. There's a question mark over whether Ross did kill Lucy's mum at the moment, (or if it was Lucy!) after Lucy spoke to her dad the other night and said 'what if they found out what I did!' Sally is struggling with Lucy, especially after she threw her phone at Sally and hit her in the face.

Sarah is still in prison, (for killing Theo,) and hasn't had her trial yet. She has finished with Kit, who went on to sleep with her daughter Bethany!

Bernie's aunt (Celeste) who was trying to get Todd to do a funeral for her, died a few weeks ago, but not before dropping the bombshell that she has breast cancer, and Bernie may have the gene. So may Gemma and the quads, and Kit, and Brody...

Kit was tested. He has breast cancer. He is devastated - (naturally.)

Carl has just got a job in the cab office.

Probably missed some stuff!

I mentioned this in the last thread, but I can't remember if Todd did ever do Celeste's funeral by the way... She's been dead nearly 4 weeks now. I don't think they've mentioned her funeral for about 3 weeks. And I definitely don't remember them doing it.......

Urgh, why are they trying to ruin Debbie and Ronnie now?! Confused Getting Debbie to throw herself at that man at the bar, and suggest they go and sleep together? Just why? Hmm

I wonder if that woman (who got the free meal) will be back? (Who Debbie was in prison with?)

And what has nasty Ross got planned I wonder? There's no way he is going to 'have Gary's back.' And as for 'anything you want Gary, ANYthing!' That was just plain odd.

I don't know how common it is but my relative with dementia behaved like Debbie. It was such a change and could be very embarrassing. Trapping the vicar who had to be rescued was one horrible instance.

Yes Ross is a very good actor, the way he looked at James when he said they’d been out in the gay village spoke volumes.
Wont be long before Sarah works out who the father of Bethany’s baby is, if it was me I’d have sussed it within 5 minutes - so bloomin’ obvious.
I’m starting to cringe now with the whole Debbie ‘he doesn’t fancy me anymore’ thing.

Although I did laugh at the way she spoke to the prison woman.

Yes I agree the Ross actor is a good actor. He is so menacing and gives such evil looks. He's obviously going to hate people who are gay, because he hates women, and men who are really misogynistic are usually homophobic too. This kind of person is usually racist too. Although, he's going to find that tricky with having Ruby as a grand-daughter.

Also annoyed with how they've made Summer soooo worried about Marco. She has been on 3 dates with him at the most, and she's acting like she's his wife.

Still annoyed with how they've messed with Ronnie and Debbie!

Trapping the vicar? Sorry, was that on Corrie? I don't remember that at all. Or are you saying your relative did this?

And yes I agree that there very likely are some embarrassing moments, but they really should stop Debbie working at the hotel. They have lost the sale of a wedding there.

When she was trying to get that woman's husband-to-be to go to one of the rooms for a shag, I was like 😱No wonder Ronnie is getting angry and pissed off. I know she can't help it though, and it's difficult for everyone...

We don't care about Marco do we ? I can't be bothered with more prison and court.

I couldn't give a shiny shite about Marco. Are they expecting us to care?

My relative trapped the vicar. Her behaviour was so far from how she had been for 80 years and I think Debbie is playing it perfectly from what we experienced.

Ross did come across as a bit of a panto villain in the prison scenes lurking in the background with a classic "I'm up to something" look on his face. He was really over egging the nice guy routine with Maria too.

I am assuming he is in on the drugs trade and Gary will be the fall guy.

eggandonion · 24/10/2026 13:14

Dementia really chips away at people. Younger people like Debbie are physically fit and look well. I can see why she feels able to go to work. Wedding lady looked like a bridezilla .
Ross is horrible. I have no idea what Marco looks like. And Sarah has lived on the street long enough to know that the daddy won't be the nice man.

the80sweregreat · 24/10/2026 13:23

It must be horrible playing the bad guy ! The Ross actor does it well though

Deadringer · 24/10/2026 13:29

I still reckon Marco will turn out to be Summer's brother or something. Having him locked up means they can't sleep together. I can't think of any other reason why we (or Summer) are expected to care two hoots about him on such a short acquaintance.

Yeah, something's going to go awry with Gary isn't it?

I think actors often enjoy playing baddies @the80sweregreat , it lets them exorcise their inner demons or flex their creative muscles or something along those lines.

You may have a point @Deadringer .

the80sweregreat · 24/10/2026 13:33

Yes. I bet a few dont mind being the villian of the piece.

Yes, it is a bit of a weird one isn't it? As has been said (by @thenightsky ) I couldn't pick him him out a line up! I can't picture him in my head. At all.

And even though he is part of a storyline now, he's not present. We've not seen him for over a month I don't think...

In the real world, any woman who met a man and dated him 2-3 times, then discovered he was a wrong 'un, and was in prison - even on remand - would run a mile!

Yeah it is really insidious isn't it (dementia,) and such a cruel illness.

As for wedding lady, yes, she was giving off bridezilla vibes, although I have to say, I don't blame her for bailing, and cancelling the wedding at the hotel.

the80sweregreat · 24/10/2026 14:01

The bride looked the sort that would just moan on and on and complain a lot , but it’s still business isn’t it.

Yes she did. And yes it is...

The woman would have been hard work I think. I mean, I'm sure someone said 'sorry, the lady (Debbie) has dementia' and she still rolled her eyes and basically said it was a madhouse (or something similar,) and didn't care that Debbie was unwell.

OP posts:
Deadringer · 24/10/2026 14:32

I dunno, they didn't have her booking on record I think, and she has already sent out the invites, you would be pissed off. When her fella tells her about the shenanigans with Debbie she really will hit the roof!

Her biological parents have never had much of a mention but perhaps one of her numerous gay dads has fathered a child?

Son of Billy?

Deadringer · 24/10/2026 16:55

Summer never seemed very interested in her birth parents, which i think is odd considering she has lost so many dads, and then there is her unknown health history too.

Yeah, I am surprised Summer hasn't explored this too.

I can't find any information to suggest she is @Lorrymum She had a baby 2 years ago. But isn't pregnant currently AFAIK.
