Vibrator thread - why is that not in the sex topic?

I'm sure it was moved before. Why is it back in Active Convos? What's the point of having dedicated topics if even MNHQ don't use them?!

Would it be feasible to make it so we are able to hide the page in the same way as we can hide threads ? So those of us who want to use mumsnet but without sex toys being (metaphorically) shoved in our faces can hide the thread/ page and get on with browsing mumsnet for the content we choose to read?

I’d like this as well. If I want to buy anything like that, I’m sure I can find out how to do it without having this all over MN when I’m trying to find a thread about something completely unrelated.

Honestly, having the vibrator/ sex themed pinned posts puts me off using mumsnet when they are there. 2 reasons- 1 is I have primary school aged children who can read, and who are near my computer or phone when I use mumsnet, I do not want to have to answer questions on "what is clitoral stimulation" or "whats a vibrator". Another reason is that I have blocked the sex topic, because I feel uncomfortable having those topics in view when I use mumsnet (for personal reasons)- I would expect anything thats 18+ like this to be included in the sex topic, rather than at the top of the page which I and others go to as the main page for accessing mumsnet.

Would it be feasible to make it so we are able to hide the page in the same way as we can hide threads ? So those of us who want to use mumsnet but without sex toys being (metaphorically) shoved in our faces can hide the thread/ page and get on with browsing mumsnet for the content we choose to read?

The sex topic is full of men! But I’m sure they can advise in great detail which one their wife likes.

It's a parenting site, with various topics and heaven forbid, to make creation, to quite Sheldon cooper, people have to do the dance with no pants, So basically what's the adverse to people asking about the business so to speak, or are people only aloud to "dance" to make the creations then heaven forbid, the topic is never discussed ?

Sorry it's taken a while to get back to you. We wanted to check the exact reasoning for this with our sales and content teams before we posted.

It is as we expected: the best sex toys page has been bought for sponsorship by Ann Summers, so that's why it was pinned in Active (and why it appeared again here after not being pinned there for a while) - it's part of the promotion that the Content team do for sponsored pages.

If you were all that keen, or wanted to find somewhere to be mortified, then why didn't you go and read the sex topic anyway?!
Because I only usually read the active thread list due to threads usually zzzzz after a week.

I use the active threads rather than categories, due to mainly most threads usually lasting around a week before they fizzle, yes some do go longer but unless it's active then otherwise it's a mix as to weather the op still updates the thread.
