I've just woken the cat by laughing so loud at ex-Bob and Joan being triggered.

Cat wold like you to be humourless feminists please, so he can go safely back to sleep
(that would be his male entitlement showing through)

I can believe that Miranda's post was deleted. I can't remember what was said but I remember thinking 'that one will go' Grin

Hehe

Oo - Remind me later and I will change to BeyondTheJoanphobe Grin

Bowlofbabelfish · 17/06/2018 17:35

The acronym thing reminds me of a joke:

Times New Roman, Calibri and Ariel walk into a bar. “Get out!” Yells the barman, “ we don’t serve your type in here!”

Sorry

PointlessTV · 17/06/2018 17:29

Oh Joanie hun, ur so right. That is LITERAL VIOLENCE.

I have been TRIGGERED by the hate speech.

I feel your pain. I feel your pain EVEN MORE THAN YOU DO, Joanie hun, because IT COULD HAVE BEEN MEEEEEEEE

I am shaking and crying, I am so upset at the phobes. I am TRIGGERED too! I am a Joan on a Monday and Thursday.

BoreOfWhabylon · 17/06/2018 17:12

AND MY NAME'S NOT EVEN JOAN!!!!

BeyondSceptical · 17/06/2018 17:12

I knew you would be along, the second I posted I wondered why 'joan' had popped into my head Grin

How absolutely DARE you! I am incredibly offended and am going to go and have a cry. I'll have you know that Joan are the MOST oppressed people of any group EVER and this hateful bigotry is exactly why! You are clearly JOANPHOBIC and I will be writing to your old first year teacher to tell them exactly what I think so they can know just how ASHAMED they should be for having once known you (kind of) many years ago! Shocked I am, SHOCKED.

Mumsnet it is about time you stopped allowing Joanphobes on this site, I will be writing to every single one of your friends and family to tell them how DISGUSTED I am that you tolerate it. SHAME ON YOU.

Hopefully if we say "Joan, an ACRONYM from london" (picked Joan as it is hopefully - no offence to any Joan's - a name that won't directly apply to someone) what sex "Joan" is should be clear from the context Wink

Any complaints there?

LangCleg · 17/06/2018 16:08

Genius!

Popchyk · 17/06/2018 16:01

I'm all for it.

Exactly! Grin

For anyone who missed it, it stands for
Actively Considering Reassignment Or Not Yet Madeyourmindup

(hopefully as it is a quote, this will not break guidelines...)

BoreOfWhabylon · 17/06/2018 15:08

You mean using 'ACRONYM' to replace the acronyms we are no longer able to use?

Excellent Grin

BeyondSceptical · 17/06/2018 14:29

Omg, why have I not thought of this before...

ACRONYM! Grin

Beachcomber · 17/06/2018 11:16

I've just noticed that in fact I have 2 deletions on the same thread (the one about spreading the idea of gender identity).

Don't know if that is 2 strikes as I've only received 1 email. I can't remember what I said in the 2nd deleted post. I know I posted critically of the organization Mermaids in one of my posts so it may be for that.

Considering that the guidelines have only just changed I would really like a more helpful explanation for deletion than what I currently have which is "you broke the guidelines".

I would also like to know if tho deletions are strikes and if I'm likely to get suspended today if I post something critical of an ideology (transgenderism or otherwise).

Popchyk · 17/06/2018 11:10

I'd leave it until tomorrow during the day, Beachcomber and then ask them to reinstate your post again. It is possible that you'll get someone different responding and they'll just reinstate it rather than create any more work for themselves.

Beachcomber · 17/06/2018 11:05

I don't have a reply yet to any of my contact with HQ. Which is fine, they are no doubt busy, it's the weekend, etc.

I would really appreciate a reply at some point however and I am a little surprised to have no message at all concerning 2 posts of mine that I have reported as usually HQ are very quick to do something about reported posts.

I'm hoping the delay is because they are not ready to reply rather than because they aren't going to reply at all!

ProperLavs · 17/06/2018 09:09

MN has gone to pot basically. I don't know how they can live with themselves, especially those who have daughters of their own - i'll probably get deleted for that

TimeLady · 17/06/2018 07:36

And of course, Bob could be short for Robert or Roberta, so no reference to natal sex there.....excellent suggestion.

blackdoggotmytongueagain · 17/06/2018 06:15

Bob is from Blackadder isn’t it? Can we use ex-Kate as well?
I can only hear ‘Bob’ in a Blackadder voice...

loveyouradvice · 17/06/2018 04:14

We are all a bit confused. My strike was with regard to the number of AGPs.

Im really concerned about this thebewilderness.... there seems to be very good evidence about numbers of AGPs... and a number of self-identifying AGPs writing about how AGP is denied, and hidden and one of their main concerns being that this is so.... including I understand a couple of either psychiatrists or psychologists who treat people for AGP and are AGP themselves, and have done interesting studies
